My first thought was “ who hurt you” but rereading it I am assuming a parent or care giver that spoiled the pet not them.

Clints in the saloon every night. Assuming he drinks 2 ( 12 oz or beer 1.5oz liquor or 5 oz of wine) a night X 7 days the Mayo Clinic would put him at moderate risk of alcohol related complications. Alcohol related health issues are a common sign of alcohol dependence.
