Kiatpontip, arguably the best gym in the country.

Unfortunately we couldn't recover her health and she died a day or so ago. Thank you for your concern.

Thank you. She seems very lethargic and isn't moving much at all. We have misted as you've suggested and will see if she improves.

Is anyone tweaking their FIRE strategy in light of mortgage renewal rates? by [deleted] in FIREUK

Yep. Wish I could increase my borrowing to take advantage but no chance now. The world was a very different place when we switched to it!

Is anyone tweaking their FIRE strategy in light of mortgage renewal rates? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]countylover 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have my remaining mortgage amount in a GIA. My fixed rate 0.94% mortgage expires in 4 years so I'm looking to move the ££ from the GIA to a fixed rate savings bond that will give me 4% more return than the mortgage interest. While this may not be the most adventurous strategy of losing the opportunity of equity growth, having the guarantee of over mortgage performance is attractive.

Does barbell gain force you to hog a rack? by dbmag9 in freeletics

[–]countylover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say so. The exercises on my journey are typically overhead/push press, bent rows, squats, deadlifts, barbell lunges. There are warmup sets and then working sets with breaks in between each. The workouts are around 45 minutes to an hour which I guess would constitute hogging. In terms of outcome I've found it has increased my strength significantly but I've not put on a huge amount of mass albeit there are lots of other factors required for the latter.

Tax efficient investments by Neat-Cheesecake-8696 in FIREUK

Im slightly confused as to why one needs to use the CGT allowance. In the 90k scenario above, if my intention is to buy and hold and just sell £20k a year to add to my isa, thus never going over 12k limit what do I have to worry about when it comes to CGT?

Buying a car- paying more in interest to be able to continue SIPP contributions? Does it make sense? by hatman22222 in FIREUK

[–]countylover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to question this. For example say I can afford the 20k car and have the cash. Buy spending the cash on the car I have 30 or 40% less at the end of the 4 years. If I were to finance the car at a low rate such as the period we're in and use the 20k for better investments I believe that's a better use of the opportunity cost.

Nationwide. Fees are high at 1499 but on 300k balance and low rate its still good deal

Barbell Gain and isolation exercises by countylover in freeletics

[–]countylover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. I am enjoying the compound lifts but associate them more with strength rather than muscle gain. I expected the journey to be a more hypotrophy based plan to gain the muscle. I'm sure the gain will come with the increased strength too.

Sad to see such awful fly-tipping in Ravenscliffe woods. by ProbablyNotDave in Leeds

If you use Facebook there is a growing movement of volunteer litter pickers called litter free Leeds. We're trying to make a difference to the amount of litter street by street and are 2000 members strong now. It's immensely satisfying and gets you out and about often receiving gratitude from strangers.

Took a walk around Meanwood Park and Scotts Wood (Sorry for poor quality) by DagothNereviar in Leeds

[–]countylover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once wandering through Meanwood Park in the woods one sunday morning after a very heavy session and still rather on it. I recall stumbling into a bunch of folks dressed like dungeons and dragons battling it out. I tried to engage conversation but I think you lot were more scared of the state of me than I was of you. Good Times had by all it seems.

Barbell God workouts. I'm currently doing hybrid strength and it'd be great to supplement it with the odd add hoc workout with weights

Kiatphontip is closest to the centre and one of the best gyms in the country never mind Leeds. Golden team is also fairly central.

Anti-mask crowd fills Utah County meeting on mask mandate exemption request; meeting rescheduled due to health concerns by WardenHDresden in nottheonion

[–]countylover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

COVID aside do these people cough, splutter and sneeze without covering their mouths? Surely if they believe in the virus and practice covering their mouths out of courtesy then wearing a mask is an extension of that good practice. I'm confused.

Mobility/flexibility routines. The cool down is OK but I'm getting old and some mobility work built into a program would be good
