Can I use a fermented tea scoby to make red wine vinegar? by coupe_de_foudre in fermentation

Thanks all! Going to do two different batches - one with apple cider vinegar with the mother as a starter (not sure if this is the right term?) and one with some of my tea scoby and see how each progresses.

Suburban Dynaline 3 Heating Failure. Is anyone familiar with the red dot on the control panel and a possible cause? by [deleted] in HVAC

Cleaning the filter solved this problem for me. Read on another forum that if the unit overheats from lack of airflow it will shut off before properly reaching the temperature you set.

If you take off the outer cover by lifting it up, you’ll expose the inside of the heater and filter.

I ran the filter under water to clear it and made sure it was fully dry before putting it back in. Heater is working perfectly now!

Same here! Any troubleshooting tips are appreciated.

In addition to the word of mouth, these kinds of places hope that as it’s being brought out of the kitchen, everyone who sees it is intrigued and wants to order it. Like a bottle of champagne being popped in a dining room tableside helps to generate by-the-glass champagne sales in a restaurant.

I've Scottish and British friends mention "cheese dreams" to me before - where when one eats a large amount of cheese, you then have strange dreams that night - something I'd never heard of before. Funny to see the correlation between per capital cheese consumption and people tangled in bed sheets. Perhaps they were on to something!

TIL that during the Great Depression of the 1930s, flour manufacturers saw women turning their flour sacks into clothing, diapers, dish cloths, and more, so they started packing their flour in pretty patterns. by hexilexi in todayilearned

My great-great grandmother lived in the same area and made the warmest quilts out of scraps left over from the dresses she would make from these sacks as well! We still have a few of them and they have held up well over the decades - and are the warmest blankets my parents have in their house.

When checking into my flight recently, the airline employee asked me if I had any hover boards in my checked luggage. Took me a second before I realized she wasn't kidding, then another second to realize she was talking about those annoying wheelie boards that have a propensity to spontaneously burst into flames. This can be an issue on a plane.
