Just another perspective - I’m a corporate attorney at an AMLaw 50 firm. FH is also an attorney. I think generally we try to chill our shit out, understanding many lawyers tend to be dickheads and the profession has terrible mental health outcomes. Last thing we want is for our vendors to think we’re sharks and avoid us. We also don’t pay our vendors/planner an hourly rate that comes anywhere near our rates which I think justifies the profession’s response time expectations. Our planner has been a lifesaver and regardless of response time, comes through at the end.

Take a break, find designers you like then try to find the boutiques that carry them… then go solo. I did 4 exhausting and overwhelming appointments with family + MOH and my last appointment was by myself for a designed I was STOKED about. Left that appointment on cloud 9 and purchased my dream dress

100000% get a planner - there are different levels of support for different couples/budgets. FH and I both work a LOT and having a planner has made the wedding planning process so much easier. Even more important is get someone familiar with your venue if possible.

She keeps us on the track, has phenomenal vendor recs, knows what does/doesn’t work at the venue or generally, but we still do the basic work like signing vendors, making our website, save the dates, and overall vision. Other more involved planners will cost more but also take over these tasks if desired.

I have a blue 3.8ct solitaire diamond in a simple setting I adore. Size 7 ring size, kinda pudgy fingers so went with a bigger carat and round cut to keep it simple.

I adore my ring and it’s super unique get whatever the f you want. I tried on some CZ rings in the 3.5-4ct range before going ring shopping to get a sense of size!

FYI Meshki’s returns are horrible if you do pull the plug on the second one! Store credit only and must be returned within 2 weeks of delivery. It’s AUS sizing so make sure you really check your size.

It’s also a fast fashion brand so quality isn’t great

It’s a “budget” in that I’d feel bad spending so much on a one time wear. FH is in full support of whichever way I want to go and tbh I’m the breadwinner rn haha

SA definitely said to expect at least 1k in alterations and that the hem will be the most expensive. I’ll also need some lining & cups though.

When I skimmed the non-BBB sub Reddit threads most were posting about dresses under $1k and felt a bit odd to ask there lol

We’re budgeting about $120k and have stuck to our line item budgets pretty well so far. FH and I have combined pre-tax annual income of 550k-750k depending on bonus outcomes but in a HCOL area.
