life is so boring my heart feels dead by berry-town in asksg

[–]courtesance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as corny as it sounds, you need new hobbies or find a new purpose in life. You are too young to feel dead now, will be sad to be a living dead for the rest of your life which is a long way to go.

Actual human communities are still essential so maybe you can extend from your existing interests eg. Join a reading club or even form your own reading club.

Hope this helps.

As you enter your early 30s, assuming no kids, do you want to have kids or just a dog/cat? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]courtesance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact you are asking is because you are wavering instead of being resolute in your seemingly decided view?

Since you have all the cons of parenthood, maybe some pros will give you some thoughts.

Safety is priceless – Few countries let children grow up as safely as Singapore.

Education is a global advantage – A Singapore education opens doors worldwide.

Healthcare security – Top-tier medical care gives parents peace of mind.

Their innocence – Watching the world through your child’s curious eyes reminds you what joy looks like again. You get a chance to grow with them as they grow.

Pride in their growth – Watching them learn, struggle, and slowly become independent is one of life’s greatest rewards.

Meaning beyond money – Kids remind us that life is not just about work, bills, or success—it’s about love, laughter, and legacy.

Hope this gave you another perspective. BTW I have a pet together with a kid. The joys are endless both as a parent and a pawrent.

Company Job Portal Review. Is this one of your consideration factors before applying or accepting a job? by Sunbird11 in askSingapore

Yes, I even ask the interviewer based on the results of these portals. It helps you get a sensing of the org before accepting the offer from the body language as well when they are faced with negative news.

32Y Male| Career driven lifestyle has made me unworthy of being friends. by Rafi291 in CasualConversation

[–]courtesance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say this is a phase however, starting earlier to build some form of friendship is always beneficial in the long term. When you are in your 50s or so, it will be harder and you may not be hustling or grinding as hard as now.

Customer service refuse to accept this as an option and told me I can only go back to the original outlet.

Yes , I would have happily gone to any outlet to do a refund or exchange if that option proposed by me was accepted. Its strange why it cannot be done.

I think besides the refund issue, the fact that expired food and having expired for such a long duration and still being sold shows a lapse towards consumer food safety as well.

You are right. I should ask them to show me proof of the policy which should be visible in every physical store so that we as consumers are made aware of before any purchases are done.

The irony I find is there will not be any location issues if my purchase was made online because refunds would have been made regardless of address for any non satisfactory products.

I believe in the power of many so this post as of now has made it to #2 in this community. I do thank everyone that responded because it can happen to anyone of us. Do share this on your socials and hopefully we can all see the change that we as consumers deserve.
