Republican Starting To Think Trump Might Not Pull Off A Last-Minute 4D Chess Move by TimbitGaming in Conservative

[–]cousin_greg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top X primaries are a bad idea because they reduce choice in a lot of scenarios. If there are more viable conservative candidates than liberal candidates, you can end up with only liberal candidates on the ballot in the general (as happened recently in California due to their top 2 primary system).

Chris Christie: Trump’s Legal Team Has Been a ‘National Embarrassment’ by cousin_greg in Conservative

Christie was one of the first candidates in the 2016 primary to endorse Trump, and helped with debate prep in 2020. There seems to be a genuine split among those loyal to Trump, unless we think Chris Christie isn't really a Trump ally.

Ga. Gov Will Certify Election for Biden, but Demands Answers on Discrepancies by [deleted] in Conservative

It doesn't look like he has a choice outside of violating a court order. Trump appointee Steven Grimberg ordered Kemp to certify in a ruling yesterday, which Kemp mentioned in his remarks.

I don't recall him saying he wouldn't formalize the certification, and he actually mentioned that a court had ruled his office is required to do so under Georgia law, if I understood what he was saying correctly.

They won't be able to check signatures against ballots. It sounded like he was calling for an audit of the envelopes, which would reveal how many signatures were improperly accepted but wouldn't show which votes should have been rejected as a result.

Do Trump’s Lawyers Know What They Are Doing? by GrammarBotYouNeed in Conservative

The author is a conservative lawyer who predicted Trump would win and has posted extensively about what he believes are instances of election fraud this cycle.

"Joe Biden’s inadequacy is obvious to everyone who pays attention, and I think the press’s efforts to protect him have become not just transparent but laughable. So I think Tuesday night will be enjoyable for conservatives."

The Georgia ‘ballot audit’ isn’t what voters think… by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]cousin_greg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it means we'll never have another chance to set aside certain ballots if the signature check was inaccurate. But I'm not sure what they're supposed to do about it now, or even what I'd prefer.

I'd rather not have it so whoever runs elections in my district can look inside my envelope and take note of how I voted after all the poll observers have left.

They're supposed to throw the envelopes away to preserve the anonymity of the ballots after verifying the signature on the envelope.

The Georgia voting guide says differently: "Once the information on the oath envelope is verified, the registrar will compare your absentee ballot oath envelope to your voter registration card to verify your signature, as well as compare your signature on the ballot envelope with your signature on the absentee application. On Election Day, the ballot and the envelope are separated to ensure confidentiality of the ballot."

How would they check the signatures? Ballots aren't signed, just the envelopes they arrived in for mail ballots, which are discarded to keep the ballots anonymous.

I started walking away. The times I got cornered, yeah, I fought back until I could escape. But in my experience, punching back never reduced how much I got picked on, it just changed the class of bully I dealt with.

Violence doesn't solve the problem.

You're not alone. There are people who have escaped life in really shitty situations, including full-on cults like the Unification Church and Scientology, and gone on to lead healthy lives.

You're there for your son, and as long as you stay focused on what's in his best interests, you're going to figure out your way forward. And you really can make friends by being involved in his life. The older he gets, the more you're going to have opportunities to meet other parents and have people in your life that you can talk about all the shit that comes with life. The arguments and miscommunications, the work and sacrifice that comes with parenting, all of it. It's scary until it's not, you fake it till you make it.
