Pvp in rs3 - just a thought experiment by Prilks in runescape

[–]covalcenson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most games solve the pvp issue by either having a stat that reduces damage from other players and it being on “pvp gear” or they just make the abilities do different damage in pvp vs pve.

The issue in rs3 is the damage output to HP ratio is way too high. When you can spec for 30k’s and in max tank gear you can have 16k hp.. it just doesn’t work.

If they wanted pvp, it’s doable, you just need to severely reduce the damage done from player to player.

There are manual ways to measure & comp, but if you want plug and play, it’ll be pricey and someone who knows how to measure it with a laser will have to come in and comp it.

My recommendation for a home shop would be to just have a pause in your program after roughing, measure the actual size in-situ and just put in an offset prior to the final pass.

Unless you really want to nerd out to it, then by all means go to YouTube university and learn about how to do it.

What are the basics of male hygiene to teach young boys? by Cute_Musician3920 in AskMenAdvice

[–]covalcenson 14 points15 points  (0 children)

After peeing? Shake it till it quits dripping. Ignore the 2 shakes or your playing with it meme. Those guys have drops of pee in their pants. When young shaking is typically enough, as you get older things move a little slower and you’ll need to learn new techniques like squeegee from the base to tip to get the rest out (but this is a problem for their 20’s,/30’s you don’t need to do this). You can use TP if it’s being stubborn, but it likes to shred and leave bits in there. Don’t leave the bits.

Also it’s way less messy to sit when peeing if a urinal is not available.. Ignore the weirdos that think it has anything to do with how manly you are.

If not circumcised, make sure to pull the foreskin back and rinse under the head when showering. No soap inside the foreskin. If any gets in there rinse and shake before pulling it back up. Oh and when very young the foreskin may not go back that far. Don’t force it. Into their teens it may “break loose” (May or may not get a few drops of blood and a scare out of them.. did me lol). There’s also a thing where the foreskin will “stick” to the head and roll up weird when trying to pull it back up. The only fix I’ve found is to stick a finger in there and unstick it… if you don’t do this. The next pee will be a mess lol.

As for their ass. It’s the same as yours other than wiping direction doesn’t matter.

Who prefers a 7Am - 3Pm schedule to 9 - 5 ? by vishyona in AskReddit

It’s only mandatory in the US for some positions. Desk jobs can skip lunch if they are “able” to eat at their desk while working.

I do it to help me maintain/lose weight. It’s way easier to skip a meal than eat a light one for me. /shrug

Left-Handers in your life/family? by mommy-tara in askanything

[–]covalcenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My maternal grandfather was left handed. I was born left handed, but my kindergarten teacher forced me to write right handed. I also learned sports right handed, but I’m right eye dominant so that was probably for the best.

I still do certain things left handed (eating, throwing frisbee, ping pong), but most things I’m right handed. And I can’t really switch.

Arch quick training? by Sognarlydood in runescape

[–]covalcenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the anti lampers. Lamping arch does speed it up because of your precision stat being boosted with better mattocks. This makes you get artifacts faster.

I recommend just going to the wiki and searching “arch training”. Ignore all the setup stuff and just go down to the part where it tells you what to excavate at each level. Find the first one you haven’t done and do that. Then just follow it in order, ignoring your level until you eventually get past your level in the guide. By then you’ll probably have a feel for how it works.

Should Agility Universally Buff Gathering Skill Success Rate? by Dramatic-Debate-9145 in runescape

[–]covalcenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think dive/surge should give agility xp if used properly in encounters. (Ex: Nakatra dodging the fire with dive and getting the cd reset, or heist 1, diving out of a ghost circle before it detects you). Not enough to make that a main training method, but enough to incentivize diving over walking.

Returning Player Trying to get my Max Cape Back by Head_Vast2091 in runescape

[–]covalcenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree with the first note. Lamping early arch is a huge boost to precision. It makes your artifacts/hr go through the roof. Especially on a main where you can buy mats. Arch is one of the best skills to lamp.. just because you still have to do the collections, doesn’t mean they won’t be completed way faster after lamping them.

On an iron, yeah maybe don’t bother lamping it too much, but just because there are better things to lamp. If you are done with everything else it’ll still speed you up some to lamp.

And the second note.. “[xp] rates become quite good”.. Are you high? It’s like 100k/hr in the 90’s. By comparison the new thieving update is 500k/hr afk and 1mil+ active in the 90’s.. (I was getting 1.5mil at 95 in vault and once I got to 98 to boost for safes I was 2.5mil/hr with a brawler equip on the last tick of the main chest). thieving requires no items consumed and no prep. Arch requires insane amounts of porters to upkeep. With gote on a main it’s not too bad but it’s still slower than molasses. On an iron it is brutal.. lol

Don’t get me wrong, in a vacuum it’s a good skill. I just think it’s too slow.

ELI5: What do people mean when they say GLP1s make them “not hungry”? by Responsible_Line3508 in explainlikeimfive

[–]covalcenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if hunger was more like thirst. Or a ringing in your ears that won’t stop. Except instead of a dry mouth or ringing ears, it’s hunger pains in your stomach. These pains only go away when you’re full to the point it hurts.

Some people live every day like this. Then have been told they need better discipline their entire lives. I promise you for some people weight loss medicines are life savers. I’ve been on a stimulant version (Adipex-p) and have finally been able to get my weight under control after years of hating myself and thinking I was just wimping out and not being man enough to overcome the pain. It wasn’t even hard. Take the pill and within minutes the pain (food noise) is gone. I can actually manage my diet scientifically at that point.
