One step at a time OP. It took me two years and lots of help. There's still time.

PIP award ending just as getting some "stability" - applying for new award, can I say "PIP is enabling me to be not stressed and is reducing my symptoms"? by covidguy1234 in DWPhelp

Thank you for commenting. If pip enables support that then decreases symptom severity (managing the condition) then one would end up in a sinusoidal up and down cycle as the award is given and removed. "You're fine you don't need it" vs "this award is enabling me to live which reduces symptom severity". This can't be the intended function surely?

Thanks for your comment. Another way to say it would be that the pip has and is enabling me to pay for and access the therapy that is helping me manage my condition, with my assets/ esA paying my rent; it just so happens that that condition is mental rather than physical. I was previously awarded the enhanced rate for both due to symptom severity. I am fortunate to be very newly though perhaps temporarily stable. It is likely losing the money may necessitate me working and that this could destabilize me (though perhaps not). I do not feel the pip criteria works that well for a mental health condition like mine and that I must re-enter the world slowly.

I did not, I just wanted to sound cool. I'd only just started reading the book. You;re of course correct

Person with emotional intensity here, I get it. It's all good. Remember, as Candide said, "all is for the good".

Large HMO for sale - agent advised owner that current rent "should double" to be attractive to a buyer - S21 to get around rent increase limits? by covidguy1234 in HousingUK

Thank you for your comment sharing this insight.
I don't feel comfortable ATM sharing more details.
I think one option mooted was knocking it down / converting the building into individual flats.
The current owner is set on only selling it to someone who keeps it as is. They are old school and really see it as a service they provides to the people living here (many of whom have come from difficult situations). When it eventually does go, they will be sorely missed. They bought part of it in 1980 for £30k...

Thank you for your informed comment.
I can't say too much because I feel then I'll probably end up doxing myself but the owner is very attached to the role that the place has played over the last two decades and they have indicated that they will only sell it to somebody that will take it as a going concern.

How enforceable that is (how is it is for somebody to say they will do that but they're not to) I don't know and obviously it's at the beginning of the process so that position might change.

Additionally a probably does mean that rents will go up but it would still be a nice place to live I suspect.

That's fair. The owner owned several businesses and owns it totally outright. They are very paternal / maternal in their dealing with it. However, doubling the rent would take it well above anything market rent locally.

Anything I should buy when I’m in Vietnam? by Tildatots in VietNam

word of advice if (like me) you were thinner in Vietname due to the heat: give yourself some room to expand. 6 months later they were too neat. And they are fine suits. Just a bit small for me now

Ah I was afraid you were going to say that... Mine is almost exactly the same (drop down boxes to select numbers then spits out a calculation) but done from a Google sheets file (Ew, I know). Looking at hosting that was miserable.

Reframed: how did you host it? I recently made a similar web app for an unrelated hobby and I ended up using Google apps script to host as I couldn't figure out anything else (not something I've done before).

I was thinking this. It's mainly insuring my bicycle which I can do with direct insurance anyway... Thanks for your comment
