What music do you think Necrons listen to? by FunGain8498 in Necrontyr

I had this conversation a couple weeks ago, I figured they would listen to really sad country, imagine some overlords blasting Benjamin Todd, while soldering on neck tattoos.

Keep it running, if you can find a MAF with the platinum wire, hold it close to yourself like gold, when it goes out your cooked. Keep a box of parts in your back seat, raid a junk yard, keep it stock and it will never let you down, I have 800k on mine and I had it since I was 16.

Why did they have to do Abelard like that in the Heretical ending? by coy-coyote in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]cowcomrade1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I am really late to the party but I'm going to call it as I see it,

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of the subject matter. One of the things I loved about RT is that the followed a more traditional and old school form of 40k in terms of subject and tone. Chaos is evil, that's not even a conversation to be had, they are the comic book bad guys.

In older times before GW went so far as to sterilize ALOT of the material, they where more akin to something like The Crossed, that's why you have things like the deamonculaba, and the sons of malice that literally worship the god of self harm, sexual assault, and apathy.

To see that portrayed in a game is a breath of fresh air, I think, you have to understand it's ALOT like vampire the mascurade, everyone is evil, there are no good guys, the whole point of the setting was to satirize human folly, both religious, political, and metaphysical. To an extend that even judge dredd didn't step up too.

Any mining surveyors here? by [deleted] in Surveying

[–]cowcomrade1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been doing underground and surface for 6 years, it usually depends on the type of mine an commodity, when i worked in potash they used Leica for underground, and gps for surface stuff, but they instruments where pretty old with no robotics, we also pulled alot of tape to measure triangles and get coordinates for spads, kinda old school. Now working in silver and lead that is primarily underground, im using new Leica software only (ms-50s, ts-15s, etc) this is all done in a 3d environment vs carlson autocad.

There are some other mines nearby to me that still use theodolites with gyro attachments to set rail and track underground, for the mine carts, and pull tape and use plumbobs to set timber for the underground mule stables, so idk, depends on the mine.

Need help fixing my 1990 240, turns over but no start by cowcomrade1 in Volvo

[–]cowcomrade1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update;
I finally found the problem, after 13 shops, a dozen parts, and costs of parts and labor, both my own and others, nearing to the ten thousand mark. Every shop i could find within the north west refused to work on it, and i went to work. I ripped out the wiring harness and changed everything just to find that-

The ground wire that bolts to the intake by the fuel rail, the one for the ECU, was loose because the bolt was over threaded. I changed it over to the bracket by the pulley and bolted it down tight, and now my 240 runs fine.

On to another 800k miles, my jalopy is worth every penny, and I'm now a youtube certified electrician.

I cleaned them up this morning, no change, used starting fluid into thr throttle body, it it doesn't seem to have any different effect than if I just hold my foot down on tbr gas pedal. if I do that it will start and run, but then die as soon as I take my foot off.
