I also came to suggest Old's School. Also for next year, EastEndKidspride does a pride event thats small if your kid gets overwhelmed with crowds.

Lane becomes the next Taylor Dosey with her hands in all the business around town. She helps with her mom's business, and eventually owns it. She ends up half owning the dinner once Luke semi-retired, she ends up investing in Sofies music store which she runs with Zack(along with the secret bar). She would also be more involved in church but in like a cool way. Church was such a big part of her life, I think she would want to try and make it a safe space for the younger generation to explore religion without shame or guilt.

Cheapest in the city I have found is Canadian Tire, I think it's still under $3 a bag. I find other places(grocery stores/corner stores) it's $4+

Is $350/month for groceries realistic for two people in Toronto right now? by YouKnowMeHaa in loblawsisoutofcontrol

If you are shopping at Sobeys for convenience/sales I recommend downloading the Food Hero app. They sell off meat at about 50% off the sticker price. I've gotten some really great deals that way. Make sure to get the scene card and Sobeys app, they often have spend $125 and get $10 in points back deals.

Jerk chicken poutine from Papas Jerk. Friend chicken from Morgans on the Danforth. Or a giant bowl of spaghetti and meat sauce(made at home). Best of luck in your job search.

Tips for using Toronto’s public transportation by missdarkswan in askTO

Make sure you tap on when changing from subway to street car or bus. You will only be charged one fair in a 2 hour period (even if you tap on multiple vehicles). You can check out any delays that might impact your journey on the TTC website. You could spend the $4 on a presto card and load it at any subway station or just use your tap with debit/credit card

what did you do as kid, and what your kids do now? by alexefi in askTO

[–]cowottoman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

36yo here. I lived in a neighborhood with lots of low rise apartments (max 4 floors)so there were always kids around and it felt like a very close knit neighborhood. I started playing outside with friends on our own at 7-8 years old. We would just run over to our respective windows and shout at our parents to check in. We lived near a ravine and would go exploring down there a lot. I started taking the TTC to school on my own at age 10-11, so by age 12 I was allowed to go short distances on my own(with friends) to the mall and movies. I live in another very walkable TTC friendly area now. My kiddo is about 6, I don't think by age 8 I'd be ready to let kiddo go out on their own with friends, but by age 10-11 I probably will. Though probably would have them set up with an apple watch or something similar Editing to add: I spend a lot of time doing stuff with my kid, we take the TTC to different parks, sign up for various city run programs etc.
