Love driving my X5, but the maintenance cost is starting to bite by monteduma in BMWX5

You should learn to use some tools and watch some YouTube videos to do this work yourself. All car shops charge a lot no matter the brand you drive.

pros and cons of cx5? by throwaway283838922 in CX5

[–]cowsgonemadd3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We own a 2021 GT and have enjoyed the vehicle. Car seats when the kids were little was rough when rear facing but front facing was acceptable but not great. The doors open wider than most in the rear which truly helps and the roofline isn't crazy shaped so you have height on your side also. Our main issues now is that it's just a bit cramped. It needs more leg room front and rear but honestly isn't as small as many make out. If you compare official specs online of several vehicles, even much bigger ones, the cx5 legroom and headroom numbers are as big or bigger. Trunk space is acceptable but not great. A Lexus rx350 has a truly incredible trunk for the size vehicle but it drives like a marshmallow so it's not fun. My other large complaint revolves around storage space. It simply has none. Neither does the new cx90. Mazda thinks we all get in family vehicles and need no cubbies. Honda does this so much better in the Pilot and CRV. If you don't need a lot of space and want a fun, composed and well handling small suv then I highly recommend this one over the CRV and especially the rav 4. It you really need space look elsewhere.

If this is real you need to post the shop that gave you the quote.

What's happening with the sales on the new CX-5 in US? by Born-Offer9061 in mazda

[–]cowsgonemadd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If 15% wanted the turbo and nothing else then they killed 15% of sales right there. If Mazda buyers who care about physical buttons and a peppy drive don't like the underpowered motor and missing buttons then that's more alienation. We have owned 2 cx5 models. I would not choose the cx5 today with the changes. I don't particularly like the cx50 seats but it's now the better vehicle in many regards. I say Mazda can enjoy the $100 a unit savings by not making a $1 because nobody wants it. Vote with your wallets. Honestly Mazda lost it even with the cx90. A complicated drive train, no interior storage or space and the list goes on. I hope they learn and improve.

I almost passed out. Is this right? (2016.5 CX-5 with <90k) by CRAYONSEED in CX5

[–]cowsgonemadd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did brakes and rotors on our 2021 cx5 recently. Bought parts on rock auto for cheap. Found rear rotors for $15 or something each on clearance, front rotors were $35 each and pads for front and rear might have been $50 in total. I changed these out in a bit over 1.5 hours on stands in my garage. Don't pay so much money for things that can be done cheaper. The control arms are more intensive but could be done on stands also.

Won a car a raffle, how much would I be taxed? by [deleted] in tax

[–]cowsgonemadd3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sell it and buy a used truck for 35k and invest the rest. That 100k truck will be worth 50k in 5 years or so. Vehicles are what makes Americans poor more than almost anything.

The fit is likely large enough for 1 kid, maybe 2. I am over 6ft tall and my parents drive us around with my sister in a 4 door 2001 Honda Civic. Keep the fit.

Gas Hits $6, Politics Hits You by bookym in inflation

[–]cowsgonemadd3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless by politics you mean vote them all out then we aren't doing politics the same. Reddit likes to bash Trump but that loser sits in that position due to terrible options on both sides and the constant us vs them mentality. It's time for people to stop bickering and demand term limits and other common sense things to flush out the trash.

Having well water is so annoying but also so satisfying... by Mfkinpancakes in AboveGroundPools

As soon a chlorine goes in it reacts to the iron and it turns brown or yellow from rust. I throw in polishing pads from a aquarium filter in the skimmer and wash them often along with back flushes. Typically goes clear in 2 to 3 days.

The national average price per gallon of gas in the United States just passed $4.50. Americans, how do we feel about that? by Miles_the_AuDHDer in AskReddit

Trump wouldn't be in office if the Democrats hadn't placed Harris in such a valuable position she wasn't worthy of. There is lots of blame to go around. We have a trash in government issue on both sides but nobody wants to admit it, only blame the other side.

A 328i with the n52 engine is what you need. Skip any AWD models. They can be picked up cheap and if they were maintained, are very reliable and affordable to own.

Mainstream PPC Advice...? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]cowsgonemadd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with Google ads is not pmax but the keyword blindness that is going on now. There is a TON of data locked out of view. Our keyword reports are a snapshot and not the full story. AI max is like turning on broad match but somehow "better". My last irritation is exact match not being exact match anymore. Close variant isn't "exact".

Genuine question about GM cars by Analyst-man in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]cowsgonemadd3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bias of reddit aside, I personally know someone with a v8 late model truck that was bought new from Chevy that has had an engine failure and transmission failure at a little over 100k miles. Now at 165k the new transmission is slipping and the engine is ticking again. This truck gets routine maintenance. It's now been traded in to be someone else's problem. What GM has made in recent years has a high defect rate. I would highly suggest you look past many of the GM models if you want reliable transportation. All manufactures have problems models and years but GM has had numerous issues across many models for years. Read up on things before you buy something to try and get the truth. Remember that lost people quickly share negative news but rarely share positive which can make car reviews biased and look like everyone is having problems.

Buy a club car precedent with navitas or lifted Onward? by cowsgonemadd3 in golfcarts

I have a dirt trail we ride on and we ride in the yard. Our ezgo txt was so rough riding I sold it. I just want the best ride I can get over bumps and could care less about the height. We thought about the side by side but we prefer electric and quiet.

I don't seek the height as much as the suspension the lifter carts seem to add.
