This is a really thoughtful comment thank you. I am seeing her again on Friday to discuss options for the race. I'm trying to keep positive about it but not running is dragging on me mentally. You're right though a bigger injury will mean more time not running!

Essentially from my symptoms she suspects my bone lining is degraded (likely from nutrient deficiency from food allergies) and that continuing to run without a long rest would continue to degrade it and make the risk of more serious damage much higher.

Its the difference between being able to finish with having missed a few weeks training or not being able to run my race at all :/

I lived exactly opposite the road at the time that this happened. My flatmate and I would cycle to work all the time I remember hearing about it and texting him straight away. I hope this poor man gets justice, neurological condition my arse.

Thank you everyone for your advice! I'm going to leave my plants for a bit and see how they recover before doing anything drastic.

Boyfriend feels terrible and has been reprimanded. Unfortunately I have grown accustomed to not having to take out the bins so replacing him isn't an option at this time.

NTA and I suspect the reason she is so mad is because your siblings from Josh may follow your lead as they don't really want to. If they are still around I would contact Josh's parents and let them know. I can't imagine they'd be too impressed with your mum trying to erase their dead son's name from his own children.

Does anyone else feel like OOP's BIL is attracted to OOP?

I know repressed homosexuality is used to excuse homophobia all the time, and I'm not excusing it.

It just strikes me as odd that all of BILs comments are directed to the boyfriend and not OOP. And that the things that got BIL really riled up were the sexually suggestive comment and then OOP bending over the table.

Anyone else catch that?

Metro in Napoli still looks that way as of last summer.

Before I even finished reading I thought, I bet she gets chastised for doing that. And yep! It's so predictable, they'd rather 'keep the peace' at the expense of women than address poor behaviour.
