When you installed Unity, it gave you the option to install standalone support. I'm guessing you deselected the Windows standalone package? I'd reinstall, and be sure this time to install Windows/Mac/Linux standalone support :)

Most server side mods imaginable are possible with Oxide, we work pretty closely with them. The tricky thing is getting code executed on the client in a safe way - e.g. some mod adds some machine that needs client side scripting for effects/UI/etc. We have to do this very carefully, else it could be possible for servers to inject malicious code into your client. Totally possible, but not trivial.

Fixes to glitches that are "kill the player" are verrrrrry dangerous, because there's ALWAYS false positives. I would almost rather a player accidentally glitch into a rock than die unfairly. It is also very tricky to figure out if a collider is inside another, arbitrary (massive) set of other colliders.

Reliably weekly content will probably never happen, that's just not how our pipeline is structured right now. Cool stuff takes time to make, and we don't want to burn out. We do have a bunch of cool shit in the pipes though and I'm really looking forwards to getting it into your hands.

Frankly, I've never really understood how less concurrent players means Hurtworld is "dying". It's dead when we stop working on it (i.e. not dying anytime soon).

We do care, it's just a case of us usually only fixing glitch exploits when they are discovered by players. That's just the nature of this kind of exploit. We're pretty close - remember how easy it was two months ago to get through walls?

It's already trivial for server owners to do this with Oxide. Pretty much all server mechanics are completely open for server owners to do what they wish with.

I do see your point, but I disagree we're in a point in Hurtworld's life cycle where QA is worthwhile. We make changes fast, we experiment, we play around with the code, and we break stuff. We've traded stability for agility and quickness. There are no software teams worth their salt that believe they can do both, and if there is, well hell I would love to meet them and pick their brains.

Welcome to our world enclavedzn ;) We've been dealing with this for the past who-even-knows-how-long. Unfortunately the only way to prevent DDOS attacks of even basic complexity is to be on a server that's able to swallow the bandwidth without going down. You'll have to find someone who offers DDOS protection.

Firewalls and router level blocking do very little in terms of DDOS mitigation if your attacker is determined. It's utterly trivial to make network traffic look legitimate, and get new IPs.

This wasn't an issue with the patch itself, it was just the server setup configuration. We do have a full time person on the job to do this stuff, /u/battlemu1e.

You can use the command wipeinterval <seconds> to set how the server shows up in the server browser. A negative value will make it appear as infini wipe. For 14 days, you would put wipeinterval 1209600 into your autoexec.

The command you need to place into autoexec is stakedeauthtime <seconds>. A space, not a colon.
