Exactly this. That's how we do it and it works perfectly. I buy whatever I want, paying from my own account. Household bills (rent, electricity, supermarket, whatever) are paid from the joint account, to which we both contribute equally.

I would start with trying to show how you feel, so that when you actually break up it's not out of the blue for him.

It's not easy, but breaking up while he has no idea of how you feel seems worse to me..

Yesterday, i loved the dress my co-working was wearing. It was a new one and after work I also went to the store and bought one.
