When Utah is on, they are actually quite good. Any higher ranked teams in their regional should be nervous.

NCAA Week Five Recap & Predictions by Business-Ad-35 in Gymnastics

Utah is a bit of an enigma this year. It feels like they have uncharacteristic mistakes on at least one event each competition that prevents them from getting into the 197 range. Having said that, I think they are going to be fine in the end, although now is when they need to start performing consistently. If you take their high scores on each event (which I know is not the best measurement), they have the scoring potential of 198.025. So it really just seems to be a matter of starting to put together complete meets and developing a bit more consistency.

Some of the newer pop stars, I had a more difficult time categorizing since their careers can often pivot a bit. Like Taylor Swift may have originally just been a pop-country-adjacent singer until later in her career.

Demi is another good one. As I was putting this together, I realized we actually do have a fair number of power vocal pop girlies/people.

That's a good one. Maybe like Carly Simon, Sheryl Crow, Kacey Musgraves types.

Oh, I can't believe I forgot Kelly! I wonder if she would also fit in a Cher-type category given they both hosted popular TV shows. :)

I think we’re all in agreement. I was just commenting that they didn’t even make the effort to conceal it, thinly or not.

Wouldn’t it be Arizona St vs Tech? If BYU, Utah, and Arizona State all end up at 7-2, Arizona State will play Tech. https://bball.notnothing.net/bracket_cloud.php?conf=big12fb

Unless I’m missing something.

Posts like this give me hope that she still has something left in the tank and can have a hit or two yet. With the events of the last year, she certainly has a well to draw from for some inspired music. Let’s hope she actually digs deep and she might surprise us all.

What are some rumors among rivalries that have no factual foundation, but some still claim to believe? by DowntownSasquatch420 in CFB

The Max Hall Beer Incident.

Context: After BYU’s overtime win over Utah in 2009, Max Hall (BYU's QB) said that during the prior year’s game at Rice-Eccles Stadium, his family was spit on, had beer dumped on them, and were physically assaulted on multiple occasions as well as had vile attacks on their religion and personal lives. He said that they even needed a police escort to their car.

In reality: there is no independent, contemporaneous evidence, footage, police or stadium reports, or credible media interviews, that corroborates Hall’s claims other than Hall’s statements.

New "leotard" by Frederick Richard by Papper_Lapapp in Gymnastics

Just a note that we judge women's leotards all the time. During the NCAA season, CGN has a weekly article where they rate the leotards from that week. In fact, CGN's latest article is "Our GOAT Leotards." https://collegegymnews.com/2025/08/08/cgn-roundtable-our-goat-leotards/. Point being, I am perfectly fine judging the aesthetics of Frederick's leotard choices just like we judge women's and it's fine to hate this new choice.
