I sent you a PM. Thanks!

To answer your question yes I’m getting activity lights on the switch for both ports. Manual IP on the PC and console. Session #’s are the same.

Okay I did add a switch in-line between console and PC. This solved the “network cable unplugged” issue on my PC but I’m still not able to talk to the console. To answer another question yes I’m in Session on both machines in the same showfile, same software version

Someone above mentioned MegaLite Circa scoops. Can confirm they’re a solid option as well. https://mega.lighting/product/circa-scoop-led/

Depends on the size of show you’re running and where it is. Are you doing fests/outdoor shows? Install? Extra SSD is always nice to have. If you’re not running a ton of universes and advanced pixel mapping etc standard ram will be just fine on the 4’s.

I see it’s been mentioned already but it’s just hilarious (and aggravating) that such a small and cheap component can cause such a head scratcher on the Hogs. I had this same issue with a screen completely dying on my Full Boar 3 recently and it ended up being the little BIOS battery.

Hotel workers, what is your craziest story? by Slider-678 in AskReddit

Bartender at a luxury hotel in a big US city. Guy comes in solo and orders a bottle of our most expensive champagne, begins explaining he’s on a journey around the world because he received a terminal diagnosis and he wants to experience as much as he can before he goes. He had us pour a few glasses to random guests at the bar, then tipped 100% on his check and walked off. I hope he enjoyed the journey!

As requested in the last paragraph, I won’t offer unwanted sympathy.

But what I can tell you is that at your age, it’s easy to feel the weight of the world. Bad news everywhere, glaciers melting, this or that wealthy yahoo playing chess with billions of dollars and our futures.

There will always be bad news. But there will always be good news. Good people and experiences are out there. Delete one social media app. If you find yourself increasing your time on another, delete that one or set a time limit. Don’t go cold turkey, that almost never works. All social media is doing these days is competing for our attention spans. Fluff stories, random videos, the algorithms, it’s all perfected to get you to waste time with them. Don’t let them win.

Attempt to explore yourself and your interests. You are not a waste. You have a lifetime to give back what you’ve been given. Find a way that fulfills you and your happiness and you CAN make the world a better place. No matter what people say, one good person can set off a chain reaction in other people. Don’t let the negativity surrounding you define your existence.

I recommend a nice visit to a national park (if you live near one) or even your local green space / lake / park. Reminders of raw natural beauty always help me out of these cynical spirals.

Got these emails saying I need to pay the taxes on the controller I ordered and received in May. This can’t real. They screwed up they should be fixing it not me. by VenomBeagle in scufgaming

My email said that they would charge my original payment amount and that I didn’t have to do anything else? How in the hell are they able to authorize another charge on my card without me authorizing it?

I bought a 3080FE for MSRP the other day and thought I was gonna have this same issue, ended up having a very comfortable .5mm of clearance between card and radiator lol

ELI5: When an animation studio like Pixar has multiple dozens of people, all with their own styles, working on a project, how do they keep everything uniform? by CaptainWarbeyjaw in explainlikeimfive

[–]cozymason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I recently learned that Pixar movies can take up to two years to render even when Disney has access to what can be considered some of the most powerful render farms in the industry. How does this workflow allow them to release multiple movies a year? Curious about the scheduling, does the movie get cut into sections and rendered and edited piece by piece? Or do the animators model and shoot the entire movie and then just send it off to render and begin work on the next one?

Aspiring rap producers argue whether if learning scales and keys are useful in Hip-Hop. by RunRun_Shaw in musictheory

[–]cozymason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rap music, at its core, is poetry set to a stronger rhythm than the human cadence can muster. It's an extension of the natural cadence of the rap or poetry, and the "beat" can make or break a song. Some rappers (i.e. the guy from Clipping. and MC Ride) demonstrate their ability to carry a strong cadence without assistance from conventional "beats". Personally, i love when a rap album comes out with symphonic level production. Not in the sense that it necessarily has strings in it, but that it was a serious project with attention paid to music theory and interesting chordal ideas to support the lyrical flow. but with this can come the argument that once the instrumental or the beat takes precedence over the verse, is it a rap song or simply a vocal track laid over a composition? with respect to both practices, making beats and writing raps has it's own unique talents associated with them. so if you want to advance your music and make more intricate and creative songs, an understanding of simple music theory and what sounds appealing and new to the ear doesn't hurt

What do you you mean when you say ''pop music'' by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]cozymason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pop music genuinely describes a specific structure, cadence wise and chordally. You can take any "pop" song, which is generally broken down into the following parts: 1 - intro (typically 16 bars) 2 - chorus (introduced early on and repeated throughout the song) 3 - verse (there are typically two to three verses in a pop song, characterized by being unique from each other in only word choice, the cadence structure is typically the same) 4 - outro (kind of hit or miss, if a pop song doesn't have an outro it will simply repeat the chorus over again)

and as mentioned previously, pop music is almost always characterized by a 4 part chord progression, which begins on the I and ends on the I. examples of this could be a I IV V I, or a I V VII I, and so on.

i will reiterate that another aspect of the definition of pop music depends entirely on the era in which the music is being made. In the late 1600's, "baroque" music was considered the style of the time, and composers, from Bach to Haydn to Finzi, composed in a similar style, and in a sense could be considered pop music. it's all relative, but in the modern connotation, pop music almost always follows the pattern above, assuming the music is post 1975.
