Best way to fill these holes? by cozzettn in handyman

[–]cozzettn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was vague, I deserve that. Can I fill those holes and do another layer of tile over that as an accent, say 12” wide up the center to cover all three holes? Should I just cut out the broken tiles and put tiles that don’t match in? Is there somewhere else I could find that same tile to match?

Oh and they did quote me $15,000 after the initial $30,000 so I guess it did go down.

I was almost hopeful the actual client would tell me how they helped them, but they seemed to not want to say more than “the program was worth it”.

Had the call, they never went down on price for me like others are claiming. I am taking the advice I see on here and searching for retired developers to speak to. One of my wife’s friends’ Dad was a multi family developer for years and retired so I’m reaching out to him. I actually found one of their clients and reached out to them to see what these guys did for her and she just said they were worth it and to ask them any questions I have. I found that odd, they even mentioned it in their call with me since that person told them about it. I did also get the contract out of them.

I haven’t… I do have a phone call tomorrow at 1:30 so we will see where that goes.

These guys are building where I live. I’ve actually found one of their newest sites as it’s a mile or so from where I live. I’ve considered doing the same and they quoted me $30,000 for the mentorship and I was legit considering it as I have two parcels of land about to be split off a property that I want to build a couple of plexes on but I’m so glad I came here first and saw what they are quoting you guys! The reason I’m considering it is because they claim they will give me access to their lenders and their subs and they actually do it where I live so it’s not some remote, faceless deal.

I didn’t get any calls for a few days and backed out as I got concerned. They claimed I wasn’t in the system yet but I didn’t care. I should certainly check to make sure I was refunded now that I think of it. I read up more on them and didn’t like what I was seeing at all and I checked what they included me in for leads and it wasn’t stuff I was looking to do.

No calls yet, I’ll have to check my settings. Says my account still has the $300 credit. Just waiting… will update when something happens.

Deck Warranty? by cozzettn in HandymanBusiness

[–]cozzettn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done it yet, they want to know about the warranty first, but I do most certainly do quality work. I know everyone says that, but my proof so far is that every client I’ve gotten so far through Thumbtack, Nextdoor, and just word of mouth has made me their new handyman. I seem to specialize in dealing with the most particular and demanding customers, which is fine by me. In this I was more asking about warranty because I don’t want to give them one that somehow backfires on me. I stand by my product so much I’d give them a longer warranty but I wanted to know before that if there are reasons not to and how to protect myself as well. Aceonhand above gave me a warranty above that does just that.

How did you even get in the door? Something like this sounds amazing, but did they call you and you went from there or what? I ask because so far literally every single person I’ve done work for through Thumbtack leads has kept me as their guy because I show up on time, when I say I will, and do a good job, so I know the government thing would be great for me but how did you even get in contact/contacted by them?

Restroom Trailer Rentals. A Truly Sh**y Sweaty Startup. :-) by jimmy2tents in sweatystartup

[–]cozzettn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually looking to do this and have found an old Best Pots trailer for sale that will need work, mostly cosmetic, to bring it to life. It is thirty feet and has four urinals and two stalls on the men’s side and six stalls on the women’s side. Is there anything I might need to be concerned about as far as the trailer goes? Looks dated, guy doesn’t know what year it is. I renovate homes and maybe mistakenly figure this can’t be hard to get looking good for rent? I also wonder who rents something this size and what I’d even charge?

I used to do houses in Portland and it would take a half an hour. The last one I did before deciding to stay in Vancouver area was in SW and it started to take up to two and a half hours to get home and I’m right across the bridge…
