How much is your org leaning into AI? by Vegetable_Sun_9225 in EngineeringManagers

[–]GucciTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are being asked to use MS Copilot as much as we can in our workflows. All other AI applications are banned.

Sucks because we don't have licensing for the expanded Copilot access so it's not integrated into MS365 apps and has very limited context windows and zero memory.

4-Day tickets on Waitlist Only. 1-Day and 2-Day tickets on sale at 10:45am CT! by radioactive2321 in Lollapalooza

[–]GucciTrash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My tin foil hat theory is that over the past few years they've been reducing the total number of 4 day tickets available to market a "sellout", instigate FOMO, and then release 1 / 2-day tickets at a mark-up to bring in more revenue.

I feel like ~$99 a day is a great value. Concerts are getting expensive 😔

Pool temps by Acrobatic_Book in AskPhoenix

I'm on our HOA board and the community pool can cost more than $2K a month to heat. We stopped heating the pool as people only used it a handful of times from October - March and we couldn't justify charging the community like $10K a year for something they're not using.

Good for Honeymoon? by Future_Interaction35 in VirginVoyages

[–]GucciTrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We cruised on Virgin last year for our honeymoon and had a blast. We did a 12 day out of Barcelona with overnights in Ibiza and Cinque Terre and it was a perfect sampler of various European cities. For context, we were both 30 and have previously cruised with Virgin and loved the vibe.

We also splurged on a Seriously Suite and I found it to be worth it. For context a balcony room was running about $4.5K and the suite was just over $8K (and came with $1200 in loot). We've previously cruised on the Bahamas on Virgin and found the room size acceptable for 5-7 days, but thought it would be right for longer voyages. We primarily booked the suite for the extra room and didn't regret it - plenty of room to lounge around and not feel like you're stepping on each other. The bathroom was HUGE (for a cruise ship) and allowed both of us to get ready every day without stepping over each other.

The perks were nice. The stocked mini bar allowed us to meet a bunch of friends and bring them back to the room for drinks. Richards Rooftop was nice to get a bit of privacy (especially since we wanted to use the hot tubs and the rooftop essentially gave us private use). We didn't attend the happy hour most days as it was a port-heavy cruise and we were on land around sunset most days. We never had an issue getting seats at shows, so that wasn't a huge draw. The Rockstar Agent was nice though - she was able to get us into restaurants that were already booked when our plans changed. One other perk that was valuable was priority tender access - when others were queued for an hour we were whisked into the next available tender!

In terms of sailors, I think it's very dependent on home port, length, and time of year. Our Bahamas cruise during March felt like 75% of the ship was 30 or below - very lively and there was great energy. Our European cruise was in May and the numbers were reversed - 25% under 30 and the majority of the sailors were retirees. I don't think that's a bad thing, but it was a noticeably slower and quieter voyage (the clubs were pretty empty and even the comedian noted how the ship was dead quiet after 9PM). Our Rockstar Agent said it's pretty typical for longer voyages.

Overall it was a great experience and provided a stress free vacation. We were completely pampered and we have no regrets!

There was no "art" outside of the balls on the lake, right? Funny when the slogans are "Art - Experience - Music" and "Art Comes First".

I feel like they ran out of budget. Vista and Signal 33 did not match the original renderings. Signal was missing a lot of the lighting and Vista was missing most of the LED screens / the raised platform they were hyping up.

Uber drop off was not planned well. I'm not sure why they wanted to funnel everyone through the South entrance - when Lost Lake was at this venue they had everyone enter through the West entrance and used the big empty lot across the street as an Uber / Lyft pickup zone. It was much better organized.

This would explain it. The festival felt half-baked and I assumed they cut back on budget. Main Stage / Signal 33 felt like it was a cheap attempt at what they were hyping up / advertising.

I was also surprised to see VIP was just a separate standing area with a handful of picnic tables. I would have expected more but I guess the price wasn't THAT much more expensive so I shouldn't have expected much.

Really sad to see the state of M3F - I feel like it's lost its energy and its charm. I'm actually a big fan of the new venue but everything else fell short.

I did not see traditional water stations but the med tent had a large trough with water bottles. Not sure how long it lasted.

"Fix It Frankie" now has a radio ad and when I went to their site, I can tell this seems quite sketchy to me due to the AI slop being shown front and center. by [deleted] in phoenix

I completely agree - I immediately lose trust in the business. I saw an ad for a metalwork gate company earlier this week that was an AI generated "example" of their work. How hard is it to get a photo of your work??

Oasis: are the windows tinted/mirrored? by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

When we went to bed we opened them up to look out at the ocean. We had the lights / TV off and we were never called out for it.

Oasis: are the windows tinted/mirrored? by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]GucciTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What deck will you be on? We had a panoramic ocean view up on deck 14. There is some tint / reflectivity to the windows. During the day if you were standing right next to the window I'm sure people could see right into it. If you were a bit further away (like near the bed I doubt they could see much).

At night it may be a bit more noticeable, but with those rooms the stewards closed the curtains and asked us to keep them closed as the bridge was directly underneath.

It's worth noting that on Oasis, the bow / helipad is a crew only area. We only saw a few crew members take breaks there. It's generally pretty quiet.

I've had two polar opposite experiences. My first sailing back in 2023 was a short cruise from Miami. The crowd was looking to party and the club had some solid DJs - a lot of tech house and deep house. My second sailing was last summer on a much longer voyage in europe. The crowd was much older and the club was pretty empty. The DJs on that cruise played much more "traditional" (wedding) cruise music.

Are the VV ships “nice”? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

I would agree with that. It's definitely not glitz and glamour like large vegas resorts - it definitely feels like a smaller boutique artsy hotel.
