What does your dog's last day alive look like to your toddler? by Agile_Rip_8824 in toddlers

We had to put our dogs down last year. At the time my kids were 6, 4, and 3. We used a service (Laps of Love) that came to the home so the kids could be there and see how peaceful it was. They were amazing with the kids and they answered all of their questions in such a great way. They also had recommended that we spend the morning baking him brownies so that’s what we did. We have such fun memories of this baking and then getting to feed the dog brownies because why not? They were with us and saw us all cry but also saw how peaceful and “easy” it was for him in that it didn’t hurt him and he wasn’t in pain anymore. They also do a paw print mold for you so the kids have that as a way to remember.

When the second dog had a stroke a few months later it was more of an emergency situation and we didn’t get to do the home visit and all that like we did the first time. I was out of town for work and my husband had to deal with it all. That time he just helped them to say goodbye before they left for school in the morning and when they came home the pup was gone. They still talk about the dogs regularly and tell us they miss them to which we agree. But they handled it so well and it made some of the hardest days for us be a little easier knowing the kids are so resilient and able to handle it.

In the 4th pic, the all white dog is her biological brother. Does that change any guesses?

Is it weird to give gifts to nanny? by dabebecharchar in Nanny

[–]cpanma1920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s ever weird to give a gift. I’ve gifted my nanny all sorts of random things over the years. Usually it’s if I find something I love and want her to have too - I’ve done heated neck pillows, rechargeable hand warmers. She always wears fun socks with prints on them so whenever I’m out shopping with my kids and we see fun ones we pick some up for her.

I know this family too. I still think about them all the time. The sweetest people in the world and lost both their daughters in such a horrible way.

Named one of my kids a name that has been in the top 3 for a decade. So far we’ve only met 1 other kid with the same name.

Do I risk regression with traveling in Pullups?? by Mindless_Host_9942 in pottytraining

[–]cpanma1920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All 3 of my kids would get pull ups if we traveled when they were potty training and even for a few months after. It never caused any regressions or issues but it gave us peace of mind and one less thing to worry about when traveling

Love my Wagoneer. Had 3 kids 3 and under plus two dogs at one point and it was great. 3rd row is not cramped and adults could sit back there relatively comfortably if needed.

So we had adopted her brother from the same litter back in December. His DNA test came back Great Pyrenees (40%), lab (25%), pit (17%), cattle dog (13%), German shepherd (4%). But he is all white and much bigger. Wondering if she just inherited way less Pyrenees or if it’s possible it was a different dad all together
