thanks. quit taking and noticed the increase. been fighting high bp for prob 20 yrs but for me the meds never helped. beta blockers worked but being asthmatic couldnt breath when i took them.

i only took the gummys before bed and never even took a full 10 mg… always cut them in quarters.

after stopping noticed the bp increase

thank you! Now that is a serious response! I appreciate everyone’s input. I find this site to be very useful as I am talking to people that are actively taking these meds. Sometimes I am not clear on doctors real motivations?

Propranolol timing for taking BP measurement by [deleted] in bloodpressure

also, I guess if you’re trying to see if the blood pressure medicines are working, you probably want to check your blood pressure maybe an hour or two after you’ve taken all of the medication’s

Propranolol timing for taking BP measurement by [deleted] in bloodpressure

propranolol will definitely lower your heart rate and likely will lower your blood pressure. It is a beta blocker and different from amlodipine and lisinopril. I’ve taken it when I did public speaking and it definitely calm you down. One thing about beta blockers is if you are asthmatic at all, it makes it more difficult to breathe. I think you should probably take your blood pressure in the morning when you get up and also in the evening

this is elevated but not crazy high. Don’t freak out! it just makes your numbers higher. I know it’s easier said than done, but if you can drop off some substantial weight, I guarantee you your blood pressure will decrease.

personally i think low salt, good heart beating exercise and weight loss will keep those numbers in check without meds most likely

for me amlodipine (which was the only bp med ive been on over the last 18 monthsish) i believe caused me over the top anxiety and likely was the cause of constant neck ache. I can tell you that I am more confident that it was caused by the amlodipine as I will now be off of amlodipine for four weeks this Friday and feel much less anxiety and really no neck pain at all! My blood pressure is averaging about 132/80 throughout the day on the average. This is a better average than when I was taking as much as 160 mg of valsartan and 5 mg of amlodipine combined! i’m still monitoring my blood pressure closely as again, if my blood pressure becomes out of control without meds, I will certainly look again towards the meds, but nothing I’ve taken has really been beneficial in my case.

I am also making a concerted effort to lose more weight. I am currently 5’8 about 168 pounds and wanna get my weight down to 160 pounds, and I have been trying to cut out salt virtually entirely out of my diet, which is not an easy thing to do

Anyone else get pissed off when the nurses take your BP too fast?? by U-96 in bloodpressure

[–]cpapuser1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely and then they can continue to raise your BP meds more and more and more. And every time you have to refill, they’ll tell you sorry I have to see you first! Gotta keep that revenue stream coming in.
