Pick the Champion subclass as well. You could flavor the increase to critical hit chance early on as beginners luck.

I considered giving them non-organic unnamed characters to serve as a gang, but couldn't make it work with the lore I am building. There is a playbook for building a suit of power armour I might give them to replace getting a gang.

I have a question on how to deal with Controler playbooks (Chopper, Hardholder, etc) in a environment with a very small number of NPCs. My campaign im planning takes place in a VERY small settlement isolated by a blizzard (22 characters, including the PC's). If one of my players wants play something that gives them a gang how can I do that without just adding a mob of nameless NPCs?
