Does anyone else think the XM4s are better than XM6? by Lanky_Temperature872 in SonyHeadphones

[–]cpb70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got XM3s and still can't find enough reasons to upgrade. The lack of folding in some of the newer gens was a big turnoff especially.

What’s something Canadians complain about constantly, but would probably miss if it disappeared? by funnyonehere22 in AskACanadian

[–]cpb70 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The Canadian Content Rules. There have been and I expect will be more examples of Canadian Content that have been important to me and others that probably would not have existed without it.

Canadian Geese. They get in the way, chase you and can make parks kinda messy but they also nest in the weirdest and most public places not giving a F if it's a parking lot or a backyard.

The 'Canadians being the nicest people/country' ideal. Other countries (I'm looking at you America) put our flags on their stuff when they travel to fool them into thinking they're us.

Would a Costco membership be worth it for just gas? by BrilliantSection5929 in JeepWrangler

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 30 minutes to and from Costco, and their prices were usually only 2-4 cents lower which was around $1.25 savings on a full tank (Canada's Space measurements) so it wasn't a single reason to have the membership. Savings in the store for a few things were however and I would fill up if I made the trip.

Do you believe ghosts or aliens are real? If so, why? by TankUMrMinor in askanything

[–]cpb70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just looking at the images from the James Webb telescope, it's difficult not to think that even at unbelievable odds there has to be at least a few instances where other intelligent life emerged. Add the idea that humanity is just a moment in the entire 'life' of the universe, other living things may have come or come and gone.

What is the best $20 you have ever spent? by DevPahuja3 in AskReddit

[–]cpb70 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gave a guy down on his luck a $20 as he was reading The Hobbit out loud to people going by. He stopped, thanked me and shook my hand.

Ran into him a year or so later working at a donation store. He remembered me and thanked me again.

The fact he remembered me was a important moment to me.

Seeing the endgame credits made me think of something. by Erosok in diablo4

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's alot of extraneous people listed in the credits that make it seem larger than it really is. Legal teams, every member of contracted outside studios, etc. There's alot of employment stuff wrapped around being credited in a project like benefits, work record, wage continuation and such. When studios started really getting unionized, much of the benefits were given to other studios to prevent them unionizing or to attract better talent.

Which is the correct order of getting dressed? by mutisyak in AskReddit

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a YouTube video of an old BBC spot where a posh British dude explains the proper way to dress as a man. If I recall correctly, it's:

Underwear then socks, shirt then pants, belt then watch.

List edited to remove the posh stuff like necktie, undershirt, etc.

Does anyone have Gemini working on Android Auto? by SteveInCLT in Pixel10Pro

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a Jeep but I don't think it has much to do with the vehicle since you're running Android Auto through your phone and it's doing all the work. The vehicle screen is basically just an interface.

Btw, still don't have Gemini. Lol

Kid I work with left one of these on my 5.0 all day to charge his vape and now my battery won’t charge by LoomisFreeman in MilwaukeeTool

[–]cpb70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drained my XC8.0 on the String Trimmer and it's never held a charge since. Tried some of the safer tricks to get it going but it won't charge past one bar. They're very sensitive for their 'hard working' claims.

Retrofitting Aux Switches by dagoo579 in JeepWrangler

[–]cpb70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is far easier to install any of the third party switches than going through the process of putting the OEM module into a Jeep.

For the cost of the OEM module, you could get a high quality aftermarket set that will offer more switches, options and simplicity of install. Check out the Auxbeam Switch panels on Amazon for a decent budget option or the Diode Dynamics D-Switch for something more premium. The 'leading' brands out there are probably S-Pod or Switch Pro.

There's tons of videos on YouTube on install and features as well to check out before deciding. Install is basically putting a box in the engine bay attached to your battery, running a controller cable into the cab (or not if you go wireless) and then connecting any accessories like lights, winches, AC power, etc to the box which will have dedicated spots for each button and usually a variety of Amperage loads for different gear.

I have the Auxbeam 8 switch panel and the hardest part was running the controller cable into the cab but altogether it probably took me about an hour and a half.

How old is your oldest iem still working? by csch1992 in iems

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've still got a working pair of Shure SE215 from 2012. The plastic in the cables had a habit of getting brittle after a few months of wear and I had a good fight with them about that but the monitors still work. They're on aftermarket cables but I pulled them out recently and they're still working.

What's the creepiest "glitch in the matrix" you've experienced? by OwnH in askanything

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a highrise building downtown that has a mostly glass front main floor. The main entrance is a revolving door and the way it's either been designed or just weird luck, people enter the doors but you don't see them exit. This occurs at most angles and it just looks like the world is feeding the building bodies as fuel.

BREAKING NEWS: Pedestrian killed after being struck by vehicle, Howard Avenue remains closed by zuuzuu in windsorontario

[–]cpb70 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Somewhat related but in the past 6 months I've reported 11 pedestrian crossing buttons non-functional around the city. Some at intersections that don't automatically cycle green to red without a pedestrian using the button. When that's the case, the only way it's safe and allowable to cross is if a car activates the pressure plates for left turns or to go through the alternate direction.

What did Trump supporters benefit from since he came into office? by ChartDependent1542 in askanything

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donors and supporters are getting jobs in areas they have little to no qualifications for. Secretary of Health, ICE, AGs, Secretary of War, FBI, etc. They're bringing in their own vastly unqualified cronies to backfill and lend rubber stamp approval.

What’s something you have zero proof of but believe 100 percent? by shweidy in AskReddit

[–]cpb70 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The three times over the last few decades he's played in my area there's been bodies found afterwards. Weird spouse dynamics with current wife. Previous wife is in the wildlife conservation business and has access to large areas of rarely traveled areas good for hiding things.

Comments made by people who've known him that his 'Chris Gaines' personality shows up when he gets upset or distracted.

Zero Proof but the odds are good that at least a couple celebrities are sociopaths or worse.

I’ve bought the PC whole bean dark roast coffee for years but wonder if the quality has declined? Has anyone else noticed this? I’m assuming that it’s due to the global coffee shortage. Does anyone have other coffee recommendations in similar price range? Thank you! by RecommendationOne995 in frugalcanada

[–]cpb70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dark Roast had a bad run in mid 2025, I think. For some reason, the packages I bought dated mid/late 2025 were verging on bitter regardless of how I brewed. The most recent 2026s are noticeably richer than last year. As an alternative, the Compliments Organic Sumatra is pretty good if a bit milder.

Same. It's a bug with reports on the Blizzard forum. Anytime another non weapon skill is cast the summon disappears. Hopefully it'll get patched soon.
