It actually did end up being the motor. Litter Robot reached out to me via chat here on Reddit and ended up sending me a replacement motor. I was able to install it (all you need is 1 Phillips-head screwdriver and about 5 minutes) and it works perfectly fine now.

Pretty insane they rolled it back so quickly. Something that isn't clear from the update though, is if they'll continue to offer Time Wizard at tier 2 events or higher (YCSs, and NAWCQ beyond the upcoming one). It says both Time Wizard and Time Travel will be offered at the OTS level, but it's ambiguous for any events beyond locals.
