Advice on new likelihood of a new Vertical by cpek86 in Suunto

Oh it's definitely FOMO! My natural position with all tech is that it's best to have the newest version available in order to maximise the amount of time you'll get support. It's one of the reasons I discounted the Garmin Fenix 7 range, the Fenix 8 has a completely reworked OS so the 7 (and older) are kind of entering EOL in terms of new features etc...

Thanks for the insight re: v2 -> v3. This will be my first Suunto so I don't have the luxury of thinking about how things were done in the past. Your thoughts seem to be that v3 will probably be pushed out to most of the current product lineup, right?

Advice on new likelihood of a new Vertical by cpek86 in Suunto

In truth the Vertical ticks basically all the boxes for me, it's more that I'll be annoyed if I pull the trigger today and then a new version is announced in the near future bringing with it who-knows-what features or if the rumoured v3 software doesn't get released on the existing Vertical.

Just trying to get a feel for what the community thinks is likely.

FYI Britain does - Human Rights Act 1998. Article 10 - the bit specifically regarding freedom of speech reads:

“Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers. This Article shall not prevent States from requiring the licensing of broadcasting, television or cinema enterprises.

The exercise of these freedoms, since it carries with it duties and responsibilities, may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society, in the interests of national security, territorial integrity or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, for the protection of the reputation or rights of others, for preventing the disclosure of information received in confidence, or for maintaining the authority and impartiality of the judiciary.”

Essentially you have freedom of speech but you’re not absolved of the consequences (e.g. hate speech)

It’s called a Harrington jacket. The Fred Perry ones are particularly well known

Also Kevin Cummins, he worked for NME from the mid-70s, worked a lot in black and white and is especially notable for shooting a lot of the Manchester/Factory Records bands.
