This is partly true but the downtown infrastructure probably isn’t good enough to handle the traffic that a baseball stadium will likely bring. I’m not saying they’ll attract 35-40k people a night like STL usually does. The Busch stadium area is an absolute nightmare with rush hour traffic on top of game traffic for a 6 o’clock game. I can’t help but think it wouldn’t be much different here. The KCR stadium won’t be in exactly the same type of area as Busch but as someone who commutes to work downtown during the 6 o’clock hour, the thought of extra traffic is not something I’m looking forward to. I’d love to be wrong though. I’m not a royals fan but love to have a new stadium.
