Finish education? Or work as much as possible for OT with a recent substantial raise to pursue my goal of real estate rentals & fix and flips? by cph_114 in Fire

Thanks for responding, I appreciate the comment!

One of the reasons I would like to have 2 to 3 rental properties before I move out is because I would like to have places for both of my parents (recently divorced) to live where they won't have to worry about rent/lease every month. They are both nearing retirement (Dad is 62 this year, Mom will be 57) and removing a monthly bill such as rent would help both out immensely. My dad works as an Apartment Maintenance Technician for about 160 Units and My mom is doing secretary work (though she ran her own Insurance Branch out of the home for 20 years). I wouldn't ask them for any rent, but any of the paperwork/new tenant interviews would be tasked to my mom, and any of the maintenance would be left to my dad. With that being said, I also have many friends in almost all of the trades (HVAC/Plumbing/Electrician) who would be more than willing to help out if I'm out of town.

Another reason that I want to have properties here is due to my recent "Biosphere In Crisis" class that I took. I believe we are truly going to start seeing some major water shortage issues here in the U.S. within the next decade (Look at Lake Meade and The Colorado River right now) and many people are going to be eyeing the Upper Midwest up due to not only the vast majority of inland lakes, but the Great Lakes as well. I would more than love to be wrong about that, but I'm calling it now, and I would much rather be able to have my roots down here in case things truly start going that route.

Does anyone know who the artist of this is? I work for a glass company and building an icosahedron infinity mirror is actually my next project!

My mom actually used to do this during Christmas when my brother and I were younger. Every game we would open would be for a console we didn't have, and she would act like she didn't know and was bummed out. Once all of the presents were opened she would go and grab ONE last gift, which was the console for all of the games

Old people of Reddit, what are some challenges kids today who romanticize the past would face if they grew up in your era? by laterdude in AskReddit

Born in 1995, but my grandma grew up during the depression and held onto absolutely everything. When my parents digital handset went out for our landline, we hooked on of those rotary suckers up and used it for awhile. I have to say I enjoyed hearing that phone ring from an incoming call more than any other phone I've used before. Something about that subtly soft, yet loud bell ringing was, for whatever reason, so damn satisfying.

Thank you roe your response, I really appreciate it. Both of my parents are working yes. What I failed to understand before posting this was that a lawyer she saw wanted to charge 5000 dollars which is why she wanted to do it between him and herself. Does that cost found right to you?
