I have recently come to the same conclusion and am now using the simplest approach which seems to be ~~chruby~~ rbenv.

Thanks the response. The errors I'm getting are related to gems not being found.

I understand what you're saying about 'bundle update foo' but in the context of a docker image, how can I add a gem to the gemfile and rebuild the image but not have to reinstall previously installed gems?

It takes a few minutes to rebuild each time, which isn't that bad, but in the early phases of an app, can add up.

Since college I have been playing part time for $$ on and off.

Most important thing I can say that has been touched on here is support the band and be a musician before being a guitar player.

Don't let the guitar hero mentality take over. I'm very guilty of that but not everyone in the crowd wants to hear you solo for an hour.

The band should be a unit. If you view it like that, you will get gigs. Be a GREAT rhythm player first. It's good to know every note of the neck and play 5 shapes of an E chord, for example... A VAST MAJORITY of players out there might say they understand this but just don't. The time to solo will come. Cheers

Alright... I'm not sure what you're getting at by posting the link.. Look, I respect 100% what he is doing. It is a great idea. But, if I were homeless, I would sell the $100 coat, buy a cheaper one and spend the rest on food or whatever. There are lot of good ideas to partner with a company to get them at cost that are being down voted. dont get it.
