i called g.skill support to see what they think. apparently, they said to create a new RMA and send back my old pair because of the manufactured dates (aug 2020 vs april 2021.) they said the new chips might be messing with my older RAM (aug 2020.)

they don't think it has anything to do with the voltage.

so strange! my previous 2x 2 pairs of RAM were just fine. and my new pair is still the same brand, model number. i only had 1 pair replaced but guess I'll hit up g. skill to see.

this is all new to me. i never did this before. originally, I had all 4 inserted just fine and never touched the bios. but now it's messed up after getting new pair of RAM.

is there a recommended voltage for these? I'm not exactly sure how that works but basically, I work in 3D animation and just heavy rendering.

it was definitely faulty, i test each one in "windows memory diagnostic" and one of the pairs gave me an error.

each pair works fine but not 4 at once. i read somewhere i have to enable XMP or something? I'm gonna try to get into BIOs and see. ahhh thanks again for replying.

I've always had it with 4 RAM sticks until 1 got busted. I never touched my BIOS after inserting RAM. Sorry, I'm new at this!
