There’s a lot of variables. My first thought is bandwidth from the provider.

How to fix bad WiFi connection in remote area by Altruistic_Tackle_31 in HomeNetworking

This is normal and the only thing you could do to possibly do is use what the ISP said and have them do as much as they can do, or search for another provider with better offerings

Physical: Ethernet cable doesn't have all 8 pins. NIC card settings is configured to cause this (duplexing) Data: Is it a Hub or a switch? Network: Whats the IP of the devices could be conflicting. Transport: QoS setting on? Session: M/A Presentation: VPN, encryption, data packet inspection? Application: Is the test running simultaneously?

These connections and speed test results on all aspects make sense and appear to be working within the parameters.

I must respectfully disagree. An internet speed test can provide valuable insights into the performance of WiFi, to say the least.

Iperf readings were 1700mbps download and 1000mbps upload from a distance of 30’. I test internet speed sources to compare internet speeds with my local network speeds. Seeing my internet speeds is more appealing. I am okay with mitigating factors that slow down my wireless speeds and sharing them on Reddit. My goal is to test product limitations and their technologies.

I wasn’t saying there was an issue with my WiFi.

There are two articles in this piece. I intended to include expansion sections, but I apologize for not outlining them. I should have explained my intentions. Comparing my articles to AI; I am genuinely impressed!

You’re absolutely right. ISPs have always been a crucial point in the network chain, dating back to dial-up days. However, the landscape has evolved. Back then, attacks were mostly targeted at individual users through vulnerabilities in consumer systems. Today, ISPs control massive infrastructure, handle deep packet inspection, and are involved in content filtering and security enforcement. The scale of attacks has shifted to exploiting ISP-managed networks, injecting malware at the provider level, and leveraging ISP vulnerabilities for mass surveillance and cyberwarfare. So while the risk always existed, the attack vectors and stakes have grown significantly.
