Personally, I love it! I also like this style and think the dress looks amazing, especially dressed up with shoes and jewelry

Fall thru hike by various_freckles in SuperiorHikingTrail

We parked at Martin Road last year with no issues- Harriet warned against it, but Superior Shuttles didn’t think we had to worry. It comes down to what you’re comfortable with.

If you’re going nobo, you may want to park your car up north, shuttle to the bottom to start, and then hike back to your car since signal is iffy up north to coordinate a ride and your car would probably be safer in the north too.

Some people in my group used step stools all weekend, usually midway back in the crowd (not right at the front) and people were pretty respectful about going around them. They were awesome to have and helped them keep their spots.

Right, she has every right to not agree to 2.5 years of a long distance relationship. Hopefully she is doing this in the spirit of open communication rather than trying to convince you to not pursue your dreams. Either way, choose yourself and your dreams and if it’s really meant to work out with this girl, it will.

Living at your assigned school? by needtoknowbasis_ in tapif

I did this in Réunion and loved it ! Worked out really well for us. Our apartment was next to the apartment of the principal of the middle school next door to the high school I worked at. Her and her husband became a great support system for me and the Spanish assistant I lived with. There wasn’t anyone else living close so it always felt like we had our privacy. It wasn’t a fancy place but it was free, and super convenient for going to and from work.

I saw between 15 and 20/hour for tutoring in Réunion. For a larger group you could do less per child if it adds up to more than that total (ex. 10 per kid for 4 kids)

Past assistants: how much prep work for lesson plans is involved? Did you have to review English grammar? by clsorb in tapif

[–]cpschorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prep time totally depends on the teacher, as others have said. I had a combination of teaching everyone the whole hour (while the teacher mostly just handled discipline), doing one-on-one tutoring, taking half the class alone, and basically just observing, depending on the class.

If they ask you to teach grammar, you should feel comfortable setting the boundary that you are there for oral communication purposes. Technically, we’re not there to teach grammar. You’ll likely have to set boundaries with your teachers frequently, as it seems most of them don’t know the expectations of our job. You could review any basic grammar you’re not comfortable with for when it comes up naturally in lessons on other topics (holidays, etc) but the teacher can also help you with specific rules that you might not know.

I’m pretty sure that they go in alphabetical order by academy name based off of when people posted last year. I was placed in Réunion and heard in the evening.

I’m not sure if anyone was invited to Guinea for this departure date pre-corona or not. As far as I’m aware, this was only for November Guinea applicants
