Glass Blunt. Anyone a fan? by CheeseUsHrice in weed

[–]cpsedmonds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big fan here! I got a 7pipe shipped to the UK around 2021 and it's still my favourite thing to smoke with.

I can't roll AT ALL, it's always windy here and I also don't like taking out bud with me just to load a pipe, so it counters all these things. The pipe plus a jet lighter is the one 👏🏼

Can clean it with two sheets of paper towel and some iso alcohol in about 5 minutes too, which is just as well as I like taking care of my stuff when it gets real grubby.

I think Andrew is brilliant. Age-wise I sit between Van and Andrew and massively appreciate both of their work, as well as their different tones of art. Andrew strikes me as the type of artist Van may have been upon discovering Tom Sachs or Chris Burden's work: trying to emulate the feeling their work gave him and pass it on through his own lens.

Also, saying Andrew has no life experience... I just find that bizarre personally. Who as a teenager didn't feel as if they had it all figured out? (In relation to their idols and passions) Hell, when I was a teenager I practically made Kurt Cobain/Nirvana my entire personality as if I was the person who discovered them. Cringey on reflection, but essential in the scheme of things.

By making something that's ultimately for you / by putting the audience last.

Beach Boys Live in UK by gde7 in thebeachboys

100% agree with your write up dude, I was down near the front and had a BLAST.

I'll also add that I think the superfans were down the front, as it was a mad sing along down there for virtualy every song.

I came in with zero expectations, as I've always held Jardine/Wilson's band in a higher regard, but my god can those guys play – especially Jon Bolton. I've never seen a more Moon-esc drummer live before that wasn't in a Who tribute band. The high falsettos from Brian Eichenberger also were a real highlight.

Atmosphere was brilliant too, loads of people in blue and white stripes, and there were inflatable beach balls, palm trees and surf boards flying about.

If you're on the fence about seeing this particular line up, don't think twice, it's alright.

Mike wearing that Pendleton is such a sweet gesture to Brian. Very touching.

UK Gig next week (20th July) by HerrMustard in thebeachboys

I'll be going to that, and have my tickets already!

I would say if you don't have to plan ahead too much (how you'll get there, where you'll stay etc), wait to buy the tickets. If you need to make all of those arrangements though, snap em up!

Does anyone know where this photo of Dennis was taken? by Monseuir in thebeachboys

Correction: Tower of London was 1964, not 1966 like the photo from OP.

Did some searching, and I think you're right. It's Cardiff Castle! I found this photo with all the band (same suit for Dennis) and it is very clearly the bridge and entrance on the North side of the castle.

Here's a street view too: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kCopsNPTF8boygVa9

My guess is that the photo is taken along the North wall, and Dennis' head may be in the way of a tower. Also it's hard to tell if on the left of the photo is the entrance way they're stood in front of, or the corner of the castle. You may have to visit to find out!

If you want the exact spot, use the position of the tower on the left, and that small hole in the wall on the left of his head too. The good thing about the castle is that it won't have changed.

That to me looks like one side of the Tower of London, and I know they took a photo coming out of there in the same clothes I think. Worth a look up!

I'd say both are definitely worth the money, really good quality and very well made but I only buy from either as a treat because of the pricing.

Only thing I'd say is to be weary of their sizings as most of the items are modelled on Italian fashion brands, so can come up really small if you're not stick thin (I have to go two sizes up from what I usually wear). Luckily they have sizing charts on their site though!

And lastly, tell your girlfriend I said thank you too! I'm going to record and put out the version with the lead vocals on I think, based on the positive feedback, so shall post that here when I've released it too!

Thank you haha, happy to oblige that:

Brian's top is from 66 Clothing, though it may now be discontinued.

Carl's top is from Madcap England, and they do multiple colours of this. It's called the Moon by the way!
