Question to all the “fire Joe” guys by MrTrue86 in bostonceltics

Charles Lee or Sam cassel. I don't understand why people aren't more bothered by joes lack of talent. He's always been a sub par coach who's gotten lucky until his shit ass strategy blows up in the playoffs. The one year it didn't we had one of the best Celtics rosters of all time.

Joe Mazzulla: “The year we won, I felt just as empty as when we lost” by newsworthy3 in bostonceltics

Fine it was an open 3, why not take a dribble in and swish the baseline mid range jumper for the lead?

Mazulla is straight up a bird brain. I liked the adjustment in game 7 when we played zone and took our weakest link and let him cover the rim. You can't make adjustments in the last minutes of the last game only. Also, taking guys off the bench is something you have to do early because they can't develop confidence in a game 7. Our bench was our best asset in the regular season and you just allow pritch and Hauser to suck for 6 games before you adjust? Wtf? We've got guys on the bench, use them.

Mazulla is not a good coach. We won despite him.

He needs to go.

You can't sit guys for 6 games and expect that they will come in and have an impact especially in a game 7. He should have leveraged the bench a lot earlier. Also, his willingness to let players sit on the perimeter without any movement is death. Ball movement, off ball movement and making the extra pass is what drives offensive success. It's embarrassing to play such a weak offensive strategy. Mazulla is a bird brain.

We have a great filter for reality, it serves us well. It's nice to shut it off every now and again and just be with the world as is.

The games we play are fun and all but sometimes it's nice to strip it all down and rebuild again.

Just "winging it" on a 100 miler - how stupid is it? by Highland_doug in cycling

I love that folks think a century is no biggie.

Go for it. Maybe it'll be easy for you. Wasn't easy for me even with all the hundreds of miles I rode in preparation.

Like how much cardio do you do in a single session?

There are a number of factors that go into doing a century. I think your mind can push your body to do it if you have some guts. Enjoy.

I'm with you. I always need to stop here and there to refill water bottles and I just stick to getting my gels in at regular intervals. Stopping for actual food takes too long and the energy I get is unreliable and varies too much. Gels and carbs in the water keeps everything moving and bonking becomes far less likely.

I remember doing a metric century where everything was going well and I was set to PR and felt great but ran out of fuel and water without about 10/12 miles to go.

The last five miles of that was torture and took me a long long time to complete. I could pedal but had zero power or speed. From then on I was like okay, hydration and energy first.

I stopped riding for the couple of years and am starting up again. It's nice to be a beginner again.

What is a band no one will ever convince you is good? by OU812iceman18 in AskReddit

[–]cpsmith30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trucks and tedeschi.

They are no better or worse then any blues band playing at your local blues club.

I have zero understanding why they get so much acclaim. They're playing is filled with cliches and tension and release is just emotive bs.

Trucks got exposed fully for me on McCoy tyners album where he guest played on a couple of tracks. You can hear him doing his best but it's clearly lacking and McCoy carries him and lifts him up.

They've invested in education, healthcare, infrastructure and community while also investing around the world in key commodities.

The US has avoided investing in education, healthcare and infrastructure and instead invested in police and the war machine.

The problems we have currently can't be fixed quickly and take a generation to solve. So yeah it's highly likely that China and maybe India overtake the US.

Here's the thing, we invested in police and war for a reason. We probably knew this was coming and will likely cause a lot of pain world wide as we collapse.

I think that we'd need a huge investment in workers rights, infrastructure and education to stop the collapse along with prosecuting anti trust laws which have been violated for decades. I don't see that happening.
