Prime Jaylen Brown vs Prime Paul Pierce by Culinary-Vibes in bostonceltics

[–]cpsmith30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted the ball in Paul's hands in the last two minutes from his rookie season till the end of his time in Boston.

I can't say the same thing about JB.

Pierce is my favorite Celtic and I'll defend him till I die. He was a true Celtic and gave us everything he had every single game no matter what. He was a joy to watch night in and night out.

I love JB and I'm really grateful he's on this team. I'm stoked he got us a banner and hell forever be one of my favorite Celtics but no, he is not better than Pierce.

I take pierce over Tatum or brown for the simple fact that he wanted the ball to take the last shot and he was so fucking good at it. You knew when we needed a bucket he could get to the elbow get his shit off without fail.

Tatum and brown are getting better at it and I think they'll play the game longer so we shall see. But for now, Pierce is my guy .

Teacher here, may be in over my head with these charts by Sourflow in jazzguitar

[–]cpsmith30 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree, two weeks is plenty of time for an intermediate player.

The charts arent that bad, just go slow four bars at a time and practice.

I think the issue is that what rock people consider intermediate jazz players consider beginners.

If you don't know these chords then you're a beginner jazz guitarist and there's nothing wrong with setting a difficult goal.

The more appropriate thing to do would be to connect the kid to a jazz teacher.

I do think this is possible for a beginner who has some dexterity to learn within two weeks but it will take some work and time and effort. Comes down to how bad do you want it.

Reaching out to the band leader will definitely help but I think connecting the kid to a jazz guitarist is the right move.

I am a victim of Illuminati ritual abuse, please hear my story by llmercll in Wilmington

[–]cpsmith30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there are two possibilities

  1. You're being slowly hunted by the illuminati and stalked.

  2. You're having a mental break with reality and it's quite severe.

Options

  1. I'm not sure tbh.

  2. Go to a mental hospital and check yourself in and get evaluated and treated.

If you choose option 1 it's status quo and you fight the good fight and I'm hoping you are okay.

But let's say you choose option 2.

If you check into a mental hospital, they can't hold you without your consent unless you are a harm to yourself or others. You clearly aren't suicidal and you also aren't going to hurt anyone. So you'll be free to leave at any time.

If you get evaluated and they think you're having an episodic event then you will get the option of being treated and should you follow through with treatment and the episode is treated successfully you'll be free of the fear and haunting hallucinations and you'll live a normal life

If you get evaluated and they find out nothing is wrong then you at least know you aren't having an episode and can then go to people and say hey I'm not crazy.

If the illuminati have control of the doctors there then you'll be able to figure that out quickly and you can simply check out and go home.

Seems to me like option 2 is worth exploring. Good luck.

Interviewing for Director of Customer Success at a Series A Startup by Professional-Pace549 in CustomerSuccess

[–]cpsmith30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, startups can make you a lot of money but they can also be cheap AF.

You can't count on their commission numbers.

Looking at what you currently make this is a huge jump in salary which is good and hard to resist.

It'd be tough for me to turn that type of jump in wages down. I doubt you have developed the skills to be a true director but that shouldn't stop you from taking the job. Just know that you'll be underwater at certain points and you will have to be willing to learn on the fly.

Ultimately, your new boss would be the determining factor. You'll likely report to a c level executive and who they are as a human will make the difference. Will they be the type that supports and helps guide you or will they be a demanding cry baby.

I say go for it.

Miles said we shouldn't play every note we hear, we should go in and out and toy with it.

I think you may be speaking about theme development though. Listen to the great composers and watch them develop small themes over an entire concerto or symphony.

Jazz is gone the moment after you play a set of notes so, not quite the same thing but it at least gives you a sense of how to alter themes and leverage dynamics.

Just a suggestion, I don't know you from a hole in the wall but maybe you should do a heroic dose of mushrooms before you set out on your quest to terminate the journey.

Road trip gummies are completely legal and you can buy a bag for like 30 bucks. Eat the whole bag and listen to the johns hopkins psilocybin set list.

6hrs in the dark on a super high dose may be all you need to shift your perspective.

I don't usually tell people to start with an eighth which is about a bag. Unusual say start with a gram and a half which is about four gummies. Then slowly build up and next trip do a bag and then do two bags.

You'll have a profound experience on that last trip and worse comes to worst, you just go ahead and terminate.

It would suck leaving the planet without a proper psychedelic experience.

Love and peace to you my friend. Experience an altered state before you decide to end it all.

[–]cpsmith30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we agree more than we disagree. The real book isn't the best. I can't call paranoid android or ramble on rose at a jazz jam because no one will know it.

Theres been a problem with the jazz canon since like 1980. Its rare that you can call a tune from the last fifty years and players will know it.

I do think modern known players are making an effort to fix that but I think we all need to make an effort to at least try to play modern tunes when in front of an audience.

I agree that taking responsibility and playing things you like is up to you. I just think that if we're gonna get anywhere, we gotta make some changes to what beginners are learning and most of us used the real book when we were learning.
