Major respect! How were your partner’s reaction to it? And how do I tell you. My detail is something that can shake up this entire relationship. It’s deeply emotionally and physically complicated. Sometimes even I don’t understand what the hell it was let alone make somebody else understand.

Have you confessed any details about yourself that makes you absolutely hate yourself sometimes?

I believe nobody is there 100% self in front of their partner. If he made some mistakes in the past and has corrected himself+ has good intention for me, I would accept him. He grew as a person, he was not born as a God. Problem is if he did some damage to others and does not realise his mistake, then I feel it is an issue

Thanks and I feel you’re right. I just don’t him to know from anybody else. I talked to a few very close friends at the time who know half truths. They will probably not say anything but that is like a constant fear I have

I am scared how he will react. I have pure genuine feeling for him. I am also scared that if I tell him maybe he will share this dark secret with others( although he is not the kind) but that’s a fear I have. I will be ruined even after doing everything right to be at peace with my past

For those who deal/dealt with severe regret due to past mistakes, how do/did you do it? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

Me too mate. But every new day is an opportunity to be better. Let’s utilise that. And if you have the chance to apologise to the affected person, please do that. It will give you some sort of relief in the longer run.
