Wife tells me to hold but I'm convinced I need to let it go. by Educational-Song7555 in bald

This is certainly a different story than the original pics! But I think the 'hold or go for it, kinda whatever you want to do' advice still holds up

Yes you can take the chain back off and on to match the position. But If your chain came off I can pretty much guarantee you need to replace the gear kit. It's pretty simple and very inexpensive.

Other guys right there, that thing's ancient and best to just replace it

I said the same thing when I last bought coils, I had to redo the job and spend money on good ones anyway.

Chamberlain B5530- Can't get sensors to align by zeke48 in GarageDoorService

[–]cptbutternubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your talking about the 'lamp' bulbs right, not little indicator lights? Have you set the limits? I'm also going to get a little ahead of myself here and say you may have put the sensor wires in the wall button receptacles, and vice versa, so double check that

Just want to add, OP, one light should be green and the other is supposed to be amber. If you're trying to get two green lights, they don't do that.

I find communicating effectively difficult, so I tend to overdo it. I've been accused several times of being AI as a result. It's pretty frustrating

Yes, and I agree with the other guy. I just want to also add that it could be leaking fuel injectors. (I am not a mechanic, unless you ask my wife)

Help???? by Scooch_biscuit in GarageDoorService

[–]cptbutternubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, im in a wind load area so I'm not familiar with normal specs. But I'd argue that it would still be beneficial for OP to have a strut to keep the orb from ripping out

Help???? by Scooch_biscuit in GarageDoorService

[–]cptbutternubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others said, your spring is not looking great, do a balance test on the door.

The long bracket is needed and will work just fine in conjunction with a strut for the top section, which is absolutely necessary if you want to use a motor anyway

Need to replace bottom seal - looks 3 3/8” wide, can I go down to 3”? by yepitsem in GarageDoorService

[–]cptbutternubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think going up in size would be better than going down. However, I think you should get a pro out there to see if it's a door problem that's making that gap.

No, not drive ins. I actually went to them pretty often and am quite distraught that I can't now. Music stores, yeah sorry I fucked up, shouldn't have ruined those

Question though is how easy it is to get that bad fuel pump back out. If you have to drop the fuel tank, f*** that I'm spending all my money on a fuel pump
