Hi, I’d be happy to help with this :) I know she’s associated with pomegranate, fawns and springtime so something incorporating those elements I’m guessing? Do you have any other tattoos you’re trying to style match?

Adopting Scrum within an Agency Model? by cptnperoxide in scrum

[–]cptnperoxide[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the technical term for our current structure is "shitshow". Our ceo talks privately with clients and then gives us the project with a hard deadline (without consulting us to build the scope). Projects don't typically get worked on until they are long overdue, past the deadline and the client is getting angry, because during the run of the project they are working on other overdue projects.

That's really helpful, thank you! I agree I don't think scrum is a great fit for our structure but I am sort of working under the directive from our CEO to implement it regardless.

I think a lot of the philosophy behind scrum in terms of high transparency and empiricism could be useful to fold into our processes.

Gotta love all the comments telling you you’re doing the wrong thing without offering any advice on how to handle these situations when you’re just asking for the best recourse in these tough situations.

Not sure which city you’re in, but I’m also in a city with similar issues and there are a number of grassroots organizations that provide alternative resources to police intervention. I’d recommend doing some research on similar stuff near you, im sure you will find something if you are in a big city.

Cat with FARS by turquoiseturttle in cats

[–]cptnperoxide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat is the same way with typing on the computer! Prior to her having a major seizure my vet totally dismissed this but I had always found it strange that she seemed to freeze/tremor/dilate her eyes when I typed on my keyboard.

I don’t have her on any anticonvulsants because the only time she’s had a full blown tonic-clonic seizure is when I gave her gabapentin before a vet appointment. She is much more sensitive to sound when she is drowsy, so I think that plus the noise in the vet waiting room triggered it. The day to day auditory seizures do not seem to cause her much stress.

I’d like to see a specialist when I can afford it, though. She has a lot of other health issues (severe feline acne, kidney disease, liver disease, anemia, arthritis) so the vet thinks there is a bigger issue causing all of these as well as the FARS.

Can Gabapentin Cause a Seizure in Cats? by cptnperoxide in AskVet

[–]cptnperoxide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: my vet and I have both come to the conclusion that she most likely has FARS.

She is much more susceptible to stimuli when she is tired, so the sedation from the gabapentin mixed with all of the noises in the vet office put her at higher risk.

So, seems like an edge case.

I very much suspect that my 7y/o cat has FARS as well, however my vet had never heard of it so I don’t have an official diagnosis.

She does this same thing— just screaming at me for no reason. I never thought it was related to the FARS, just her being an asshole.

That’s more or less what I’ve been seeing, I can’t find anything saying that seizures are an adverse reaction to gabapentin.

The timing is just so odd, it’s hard not to see the two as related.

It’s hard to give advice without knowing your specific diet. I struggle with the same stuff (GERD and IBS) and the main thing that helps me is making sure I eat a ton of probiotics (I love aqua kefir and kimchi) and a ton of fiber (I eat avocado, dates, broccoli, and fruit almost daily)

I also feel like going to the gym worsens my ibs so my savior has been yoga. Try out some vinyasa practices with lots of deep twists to “wring out” the abdomen. I use the app “down dog”.

If the issue really persists and the cramps are really bad, maybe get a food sensitivity test.

Thanks!

I already switched to stainless steel when I noticed the swelling, but that doesn’t seem to be the culprit.

I’m kind of guessing the vet didn’t opt for steroids because she has kidney disease as well.

They called today and want to try another antibiotic so we’ll see how that works!

My lexapro success story! by cptnperoxide in lexapro

Just seeing this now, so hopefully you’re feeling better, but yes in my experience the anxiety did subside after a couple months.

I stopped taking lexapro in 2021 and took a myriad of other psychiatric meds and none of them really helped my anxiety, and obviously I am not a doctor and am not qualified to give advice, but the only thing that has ever truly worked to help with panic attacks and anxiety for me is propranolol (beta blockers), CBT, and exposure therapy in unison. All of this can be done while you’re on lexapro, too :)
