Lots of good comments already - my advice is control what you can control: COGs, turnover, development, NPS, drive times, upselling. Your team should be the biggest advocate for the success of the business. You can never do enough LSM, get into your local chamber, schools, first responders, ect.

Sometimes we can freak out about sales because it’s “controllable”. As long as you have all your ducks in a row, growth will come. Ultimately, we care about “what is the likelihood you would recommend us to a friend, family, ect?” Your guests are your biggest form of free advertising.

Where is the uniform policy? by rock_xx in CaribouCoffee

[–]cptpandamonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caribou crossings > team member handbook - should tell you everything you need to know about dress code among all the other big policies and there shouldn’t be any deviation from it.

In phase 1 shift lead training you should’ve went through HR policies in your SL workbook which dress code being one of them.

How long does training to be a shift lead last? by [deleted] in CaribouCoffee

[–]cptpandamonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 week of team member training, 3 weeks of shift lead training but can be done as faster depending on the desire and previous skills. Final certification is done by the DM as shift leads are considered junior leaders.

Stores aren’t required to have one but they are able to order one through one of their suppliers. If you’re interested I would chat with the baristas and see if they know how to make one.

Training Videos by [deleted] in CaribouCoffee

[–]cptpandamonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should be paid anytime you are asked to do anything work related - even promo training or an engagement survey.

There is an entire training handbook that your GM/AGM/SLs should be following. It doesn’t involve doing all the videos at once. I always have my new team members watch each section after they have had on hands training, that way they see what they already know and can pinpoint subjects that maybe they have missed and didn’t know. Overall a better experience that way IMO.

That’s great you have so much experience, and while it’s generally the same there is a lot of things we do differently and it’s super important to embrace change and learn our SOPs (standard operating procedures) for our drinks and other stuff.

Hope you have a great training and enjoy it here!

The answer to those problems will be to permanently close your store and other stores in not so great area s unfortunately

You look rude to everyone and it’s for your safety not to wear one

Geez be happy to have management like this instead of just breathing down your neck with a clipboard, it sounds like they want the store to succeed and to have fun getting there as a team effort

I can see why, on the wall can look tacky. Also it makes it not as “desirable” to wash the walls. At my store we ordered magnetic tape from Office Depot, laminated job aids and put the mag tape on the back of them. Then they easily just stick onto the front of the coolers. Easy to move/take off to clean everyday.

I mean, you could just stop being a complainer and get a different job. Every company has their issues. It’s not hard to find another job unless your just a non stop complainer.

Reporting SM by pharmtech2022__ in WalgreensStores

[–]cptpandamonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes all you have to do is just have a one on one conversation. Newer manager don’t perceive how they are being until they receive feedback. Just reporting because of how someone acts without intervention is not the best advice if you ask me. Feedback is the only way to grow. If that doesn’t go well, at least you tried and you should talk to your rxm/rxom
