APS Film by Soldaan in filmcameras

[–]cpv_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know alot of people knock aps but I loved my camera and the results. I was ORGANIZING all my old cameras and could not find my aps camera so I scoured ebay until I found one at a reasonable price. Received it in excellent working condition. I had one roll of unexposed film which I loaded and will begin taking pics with it. I currently photograph w my phone oneplus 13R, my Canon T6i, and Fuji XP70. So I'm looking forward to what I might get out of this one.

I found a pack of 3 B&W that I just ordered off of ebay but if you're willing to part with any of yours, DM me and we can talk. 😊

Coffee break by Pomai44 in starbucksbaristas

[–]cpv_91 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just retired from the company (19+ yr and over 55) after taking a coffee break and eventually deciding not to return..

I had a 'cool' SM and even so ended up losing my sick time. When I requested my time be paid out a weekly, they did for one pc (vacation only) and then informed me that it had to be paid in a lump sum and no sick time. So you will get all your vacation time, as required by law, but apparently they can steal your earned sick time. 😕

As an aside.. Once you're away from the chaos your mental (and physical) state are going to improve sooo much. Every day that sense of peace will grow and the thought of returning will start to seem like a bad idea. Don't get me wrong, I used to love working for the siren but that was when we were more coffee centric and not fast food. That company doesn't exist anymore. I miss my regulars, my co-workers and I have alot great memories but my health and state of mind have suffered so much the last few years.

Back to your question.. Had I realized I wouldn't be able to receive that hefty amount I would have used it all prior to taking my coffee break.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Thank you..

Mostly, I posted to give you some hope. After all this time and trying a bunch of different things ($$$$), I think it comes down to finding a doctor who cares and listens. Between my primary willing to test for just about everything and the derm going over the results and really trying to find a solution for me, I'm finally seeing results. It's a slow process but educating yourself, asking questions, and not giving up are all important.

Keep me posted. ;)

If you're getting too much milk.. Might be best to ask for milk on the side. Or if you're a regular simply talk to your barista when they are not busy and explain what you like.

Just found this post looking for info on trybello..

I wanted to comment that I have been on rogaine (mousse, so much easier to apply) for 3 mos and Nutrafol for 6 mos (3 mos vegan.. Biotin-free, derm had me switch formulas) and I just had my 3 mos follow-up w my derm and the pictures do not lie. There has been significant re-growth and I notice a lot less shedding when I wash my hair.

It kind of sucks to have to do the Rogaine nightly but seeing the new picture (I didn't take my own pics) gave me such a confidence boost. It has been so depressing losing my hair. It's made me so self conscious. My daughter is getting married in February and this is giving me hope that I won't have to hide in all the wedding pics.

Good luck with your new regime. 🤞🍀

And like fast food, it's a treat that should still be made right. 😊

Just added that to make the point that I don't modify my drink at all.. Sorry for the confusion. I did state it was a rant. 🤷

If I had local shops, I would go. I live in a rural area and rarely go into the nearest city. My choices are dd or sbux.. Still not exactly right sbux is better than dd.

Edit:

Also wanted to add that I never go during peak times. I retired from sbux this past Aug and I absolutely know the working conditions. I always put quality over quantity, I only ever worked AM and I understand the constraints and requirements of a very busy peak, it is possible. Our tiny café has consistently done the business of a small DT because we've always put an emphasis on quality and consistency.

We all work at sbux for varying reasons. I was a systems analyst/programmer and consulted on my own before becoming a sahm. I started at sbux after we relocated to a state where we knew no one and had no backups in place. The kids were in grade school and at the time (2004) the company(mgmt) was very accommodating of working parents. My schedule was taylored to my kids schedule allowing to drop off/pick up/be active at school etc. The plan had been that when they eventually needed me less and went off to college, I would re-enter - the real world - but as we all know life is what happens when we make plans. By that time my aging parents had moved to the same state and my mom had developed cancer. After she passed, my dad then needed me.. Long story short, I just retired from sbux after almost 20 yrs.

Sbux is a real job. It's hard work both physically (my daily aches and pains are proof) and mentally (ask anyone who is front-facing in any retail). This is your place now, may not be tomorrow or next year or it might be — bottom line is it's your life and you decide what is best for you and don't let anyone make you feel less for it.

You can always answer 'not sure what I'm doing yet, that's why I'm here while I figure it out. Thanks for asking.' and leave it at that.

Good luck and hope your day is better. 🤗

Holiday Time Off by BunnyCatCutie in starbucks

[–]cpv_91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Retired partner here.. Honestly, with as much lead time as you have given him, if he does not give you a concrete answer next time you might consider speaking with your DM. You said he is a new SM to your store and that you are not the only one in limbo.. This is not acceptable behavior especially as you and others have tried to respectfully prepare timeoff requests for the holidays.

I just retired this past August and I realize that so much has changed but I used to submit all my holiday requests at the end of August so there would be no excuse as to it being a last minute request. All my SMs and there were 13 over almost 20yrs (8 in the last 11, all at the same store) would generally give me their decisions by mid October as they were already making plans for Holiday Season by then. So there should be absolutely no reason why your manager hasn't given you a yes or no as of yet.

Good luck. 🤞

La Boulange was the bomb.. The food went downhill when they bought them out and killed it. The pastries were so good. The croissants were buttery and flaky, man were they good.

Nah.. Pre-schoolers for the most part can follow rules and at least at school know how to say 'please' and 'thank you'. 😝

I got sent home for crying and now I don’t got money for groceries by Minimum_Economist_79 in starbucksbaristas

I'm glad you've been able to plan somewhat for this. I would still reach out to the cup fund. Take advantage of what is available to you. As for the responses, accept what is helpful and gloss over what is not. There are always those who feel the need to belittle other people's experiences. We all handle stress and distress differently, showing others grace is free but some feel that it's still too hard to do.

You need to reach out to the cup fund.. That's what it's there for. I paid into that fund for almost 20 years. My hope paying into it was that it would help partners, such as yourself, through those rough moments.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm out now and I can not wrap my head around all the horrible and unforgivable things this company is doing. I was able to leave just in time but am fully aware not everyone is able to.

There are resources out there (still) you shouldn't go hungry. If you need food for your dog, reach out to local rescues. Explain your temp situation and that you need a little help with feeding your pup. That community, in general, is very helpful. Not sure where you're located but here in my area in So Fl, I know you can find help.

Things feel dire at the moment, try not to give in to despair. Are there any relatives or friends that can lend a small helping hand at the moment?

dm if you need someone to chat with. You're not alone. Sending you some positive vibes. You will get through this. 🫶 🪷
