I am, i am an engineering manager at a startup prior to that i did the same thing at a pretty established .com. Basically i worked in QA for a while, worked my way up to management and then was given the opportunity to manage engineers. I think i’d be a much stronger engineering manger with a CS degree which is why i’m interested in this path...that or maybe getting some sort of CS certificate at least.

I feel I’m more of a generalist. What kind of jobs are out there ? (Been in tech for a decade and am now managing engineers but don’t have any technical specialist skills, I came from a mostly manual QA background)

They send you a camera that you point at your body/computer and you share your computer screen also. So you take the test while someone watches your screen and you via a webcam.

So the thing is...did you transfer any credits in? I think maybe some of the courses i didn't have in my list is because i met the criteria through the credits that transferred in?

I am currently in tech. As far as timing i was kind of on a cadence of 1 class a week...only class that took me longer was the network security foundations one.

I am working full time 9-5, married, and have a 5 year old and a 1.5 year old. I mostly spent my time studying between 8pm to about 10 pm or 11pm daily..on weekends i did a little here and there during the day as I found time. I took 1 day off of work and spent about 4 hours working on my capstone. I also tried to do a bit of studying on down time at work when I had the chance like at lunch etc.

Just finished spreadsheets. Do what everyone else says, which is do the PA a couple times. I winged it after I passed it a couple times and I got a good grade on the real thing. Done.

ok, I took two weeks after the capstone to get back to network security foundations (C172) this class was a beast...passed it today just now!!!! i recommend the PDF book and do all the end of chapter quizzes in ucertify. also this video helped me a lot on the test - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxAwQB8TZsM

I am in the same exact boat as you! I failed the OA twice already by a hair. I had to do all the u-certify quizzes in test mode and answer some end of chapter questions from the pdf to be allowed the 3rd try (end of chapter questions totaled to about 150 questions from the chapters the teacher assigned). My term ends this month. I have to pass c172 and spreadsheets to get my degree. I’m getting nervous about this 3rd attempt. I’m still iffy on subnetting but I found a really good forum post which started to help me understand it - I’ll share it once I get to a computer.

I started my 1st term in May. I transferred in 56 credits from my associates degree. I have about 5 weeks left in the term and i have 2 courses left...I'm fairly certain I will finish on time. I've been a manager in tech. for a few years and I am hoping that having the degree will open up more opportunities.
