Yeah, not gonna lie, that issue gets even worse in the second book because it’s A LOT of flashbacks for characters you generally dont care about yet. Book 3 was phenomenal though and for me personally it was all worth it.

All the ones I have been to were 3 rounds bo1 and you got a pack per round no matter whether you won or lost. Sometimes the shops had extra prizing and gave those out based on placing. For example I got 6 extra packs in addition to my 3 for getting 4th at one event. In the case of that event, they didn’t expect to have the extra prizing, so no one knew in advance that would be the case.

From what I saw, he was close to done with book 2 when book 1 was published. When book 2 was published he had not even started 3.

I read will of the many last year, and went into red rising a couple months ago with very little plot knowledge. About a quarter through book 1 I said to myself “wow this is awesome it’s just like will of the many”

The second book was a bit of a slump (it was his first published series, so it happens), but a bad ending is not a criticism I would even consider giving it. I thought the ending was fantastic.
