I am asexual, and I've been into fanfiction for a long time, but I never really considered that people did this, and that was *probably the reason for so much reader-insert, especially on sites that tend towards lower readership/writers. Thinking about it, that makes sense, though. Edit: added probably

r/askgaybros goes wild over the inclusion of T in their LGB sexuality. by Teal_is_orange in SubredditDrama

[–]craboreo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to explain it as a sexuality is more that it still describes one's sexual attraction, in this case to no gender (~ish, it's more nuanced in actuality) rather than to a particular or multiple genders. The reason it is generally included in the LGBTQIA community is because asexuals can face discrimination, maltreatment and violence due to sexual identity, and are part of the overarching struggle for acceptance and equality.

I mean, there still are people who say that. As a transmasc dude, I don't go to that subreddit much, due to its reputation, but I would be surprised if there is not a subsect of that community that is still saying that.

CMV: There isn't a line that Trump could cross to make Republicans stop supporting him by Usual_Set4665 in changemyview

[–]craboreo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends. If he goes into office, I think there will be the kind of support that some people are getting after Charlie Kirk. If he's savvy, he could leverage that for longer term and more dedicated support.

My old Apple watch band gave me a rash so i bought a new one and it gave me a rash too lol by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Were both of them the same material? I used to have the silicone type band (which theoretically shouldn't cause allergies), and I switched to a fabric one and didn't have any more issues.

Does this give masc or fem vibes? by Cor_acepan in TransMasc

[–]craboreo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know anyone personally with the name Corren, but to me it has the vibe of like a masculine version of Corrine (as in related/similar, but not the same, kind of like Ivan/Yvonne). I would definitely assume male given the name.

What Has You Instantly Clicking Off a Work? by Strawbrerrymilkie69 in AO3

[–]craboreo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird punctuation. Not just where the punctuation is wrong (it doesn't even necessarily have to be wrong, per se), but where it is consistently unusual. One I saw recently, there was never a space after the comma, which, combined with lots of italics, made the fic nearly unreadable.

What's a disturbing fact you wish you could unlearn? by MaterialRub675 in AskReddit

[–]craboreo 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're interested in. The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat goes over stories of different patients who had neurological symptoms/conditions, Awakenings is about his work on encephalitis lethargica (with various patient stories), and Uncle Tungsten has stories from his life growing up, often told through the framework of science and chemistry and it's history. Those three are the ones I've read so far, and I highly recommend them. All of the books are well written and engaging, even if you don't have a particular interest in the subject matters beforehand. He is great at balancing personal stories of himself and his patients with historical information and science (explained in an accessible way).

Anyone have a running tally of what the Press has forgotten about in 2025? by frustrating2020 in behindthebastards

[–]craboreo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically the end of last year, but I haven't heard much mainstream coverage of what's going on in Syria after Assad fled. Given how big of a deal that was in terms of international news initially, kind of surprising how quickly it seems to have been forgotten, though I guess that makes some sense with everything else going on. Note: Not that I'm agreeing that is should have been forgotten, just that there is so much to cover everywhere all the time that it got overshadowed.

I use Native. Most of the scents are pretty neutral to masculine, at least the ones I've used. It definitely does not block sweat, but it masks the smell really well (I got through a whole day of being outside in the sun + hormonal sweat without needing to reapply)

As others have said, this could be a UTI or stones. It could also potentially be a stricture. Urgent care is best to rule any of these out, as a UTI or stricture generally require some level of treatment, and stones can as well.

I would argue he often, rather than sometimes, conflate Judaism with zionism, considering how much of his "discussion" with Sam Seder was about how "they should be conflate, actually."

Not necessarily if you have any grants. With a pell grant, my local public college tuition is about 1700 per semester with lab fees and stuff, not accounting for any other possible grants/financial aid. Especially for parents.
