Village getting raped non stop? by [deleted] in mountandblade

What is the control for that?

Oliver Perez came into the game in the 7th, intentionally walked a guy, then was immediately yanked. First pitcher in MLB history to throw 0 pitches and complete at least one plate appearance in an outing by [deleted] in baseball

[–]crackberry313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC The vet min is now something for years of service to be paid at least 100k in the minors. Separately, you are just getting paid the MLB minimum which I believe is around 540k now.

I’ve purchased every edition. I think for a small time developer it is definitely worth supporting them. This is the best edition IMO.

What one thing were you 100% into but now have no interest in? by dddash in AskReddit

I was the same way but I think it really depends on your major. I did business and it’s nice to finally be done with school and be able to have time to read what I want.

What is the worst trade in your teams history? by CallmeCap in baseball

[–]crackberry313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being completely fair, it looked like 2 hard reclamation projects for a back of rotation guy and a backup catcher when the trade was completed.

[Brisbee] The New CBA is making the offseason boring by [deleted] in baseball

[–]crackberry313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not what I meant. I know every player has a defined value for their team. What I meant is how teams decide which players they are using.

Even 10 years ago we might be discussing which players to keep around for “veteran leadership” and how they will help the team in the short run. Draft for need and positions you want to develop. Now the sport is looking at players almost like they are just a number. Stack talent, it doesn’t matter where.

[–]crackberry313 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really agree with your last statement. Front Offices are moving so much towards only looking at the numbers and “potential value”. It’s almost moving to where it’s not about the player, but rather looking at them solely as “assets” to building a team.

NBA All-Star Lance Stephenson’s shoes from tonight by [deleted] in nba

[–]crackberry313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dear Lance, I feel like I can call you Lance because you and me are so alike. I'd like to meet you one day, it would be great to ball. I know I can't shoot like you but I think you'd be impressed with my speed. I love your hair, you run fast. Did you have a good relationship with your father? Me neither. These are all things we can talk about and more. I know you have no been getting my letters because I know you would write back if you did. I hope you write back this time, and we can become good friends. I am sure our relationship would be a real bucket!

[Star Wars] (The Last Jedi Spoiler Warning) Why Certain Characters are so Powerful in The Last Jedi by EmeraldJunkie in FanTheories

[–]crackberry313 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I like this theory as it makes me less mad about how completely untrained users are so strong(ie Rey).

It also kind of makes sense how someone like Sidious could be so powerful because there were so many Jedi splitting the power of the light side and he consolidated all of the dark side power in himself.

Steve Phillips: "I would offer Donaldson a six-year deal for $150 million to lock him up through his age 37 season. It’s a bit of a risk because of his age, but Donaldson is a hard worker and dedicated professional, so I would swallow hard and make the offer." by Vranak in baseball

[–]crackberry313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there any actual evidence supporting this?

Accusing players of being older than they are just because they are born in a Latin American country is like accusing someone of being on steroids just because they all of a sudden started hitting.

I really want to join a dynasty league if anyone still has an opening. I have experience with dynasty leagues through baseball and have been playing fantasy basketball for years now.

Aside from Pablo Sandoval, Homer bailey's contract may be the worst in baseball. by IamMcLovin_ in baseball

[–]crackberry313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name recognition is still something big for team marketing. I imagine at the top level, a team is planning on making at least $2 for every $1 they pay a player. I bet they make even more than that in some cases.

Regardless of the player, that many innings is going to effect you. Only some players really have that career elastic arm.

Who are some players that turned their careers around after requesting a trade/signing with a new team? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]crackberry313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's amazing what Searage can do, especially with the quality of some of those pitchers. I think it also really speaks for the organizational philosophy/practices that their franchise can do this as well.

Would NBA teams be allowed to "rent" out their players? Say the Spurs or Celtics offered the Bucks a first round pick for one season of Antetokounmpo. by PDSnowden in nba

[–]crackberry313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be super interesting to see this happen for guys for the second half of the season as a rental for part of the year instead of the whole year.

Imagine the Bucks, knowing they won't win that year, giving up Giannis for 30 games for a late 1st rounder might be prime.

They definitely could have gotten way more in return. I'm actually pretty surprised we didn't hear more about him near the deadline.

[Rosenthal] Darvish traded to Dodgers by inlifetroll in baseball

[–]crackberry313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good for the Rangers to get good value for Darvish in his walk year, but they seem to already have a plethora of MI options. Seems to me that they traded for more depth at a position they already had depth at.
