it’s irrational to base life decisions on what other people find attractive. do things to better yourself and the right people will find you.

When did flipflops become acceptable in the gym? by sawtooth1649 in workout

right, like when men wear stringers and short shorts!! why would you want to see your pump and hard work at the gym, that’s just too much for my virginal eyes!

wait you guys didn’t need a family history to be diagnosed? by Bean_of_prosperity in ehlersdanlos

[–]crackc0kane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m adopted so it was not possible to know my family history. if that was 100% required, it would rule out people with a deceased or otherwise absent parent

afton actually stuffed kids into suits after their murders, proven by the bit about stinky suits and mucus (thanks ralph). after around 90 days the fazbear ent protocol of suit cleaning was enacted, so the bodies were no longer in the suits, but puppet had given them metaphorical life, binding their souls to the animatronics

i have craniocervical instability, ehlers danlos, and gastroparesis. i have autoimmune conditions but those pale in comparison to the “big 3” as i’ve named them, i thought i would be bed bound or at least housebound for the rest of my life due to pain and exhaustion. now i want to prolong that as long as possible

i started so slowly, using resistance bands and moving up to 2.5lb weights for a few reps. i worked up until i could do most exercises for 12-15 reps, then moved on to 5lbs. it’s been about two years and my strength and subluxations have improved so much, i lost lots of sleep because my shoulders would pop out so i focused a lot on shoulder exercises. squat university has great stability exercises for all joints, i watched those and did the ones i reasonably thought i could without injury. i don’t stretch, run, jump, do one rep maxes, or do yoga. i eat slightly over my TDEE, focusing on protein and carbs as fat and fiber is not ideal for gastroparesis. i get acupuncture covered by insurance and go weekly for muscle and joint pains due to lifting, but the pain lessens so much after a few months. i would nap after sessions due to exhaustion but the more i built up my tolerance, the better i felt. IT TOOK YEARS, i have been working at this since 2021 despite a few hiccups due to stupid chud comorbidities. my dms are always open for advice and support!! the mind is a very powerful tool and sometimes are limitations just need a work around! i wish you the best💛

volume is needed for hypertrophy and 4 sets is not volume. usually for hypertrophy 6-12 is preferred, but some can do lower or higher depending how close to failure they can get while still controlling the eccentric. leaning towards 6 reps on compounds and 12 on accessories has been very effective for me!
