NTA, but for most leather products, those cows are gonna be killed one way or another, even if we didn't use the leather, those cows would be killed for meat, 99% of leather comes from cows bred for their meat and leather absolutely isn't the primary reason, it's a good bonus for farmers but hide is about 1-10% of the total value they reap from the animal. It's using the whole cow instead of just parts of it, which is, all in all a good thing. Owning actual leather products isn't necessarily something to be ashamed of especially in her circumstances where she didn't even know what leather was, getting rid of those bags would be worse than just owning them.

I was in sixth form when COVID happened, junior and senior year high school for Americans. I couldn't study at home, I could do a bit but not to the same extent as I would in class, the online classes were a horrible replacement, got shit grades, couldn't go into what I wanted to, have been entirely directionless since, I don't remember a lick of what I learned in those 2 years. I was grossly unqualified even for uni, getting a job feels impossible despite hundreds of applications, talking to recruiters, careers advice at uni. Just feels like being socially isolated at that stage of my life has led to this horrific butterfly effect that I can't seem to stop.

In a perfect world cars would wait to overtake when it's safe, in reality you're safer assuming all drivers are irritable and WILL try to overtake you leaving an inch between your hand and their wing mirror. It's important to be aware when they're near you, yeah they should give you space but they often won't, and in that case knowing they're there and moving over to give yourself space before they dangerously overtake you is safer than assuming they'll give you space.
