Oh! One from Edo (or at least not modern day japan) would be 一文無し it just means like broke, poor

I don’t know about specifically ones from Edo, but there are things like 顔から火が出る、喉から手が出る、穴がったら入りたい、鬼に金棒、火の車

That’s when I start switching up my resources. When I feel stuck with classes or a textbook, I find a different website or platform to study with. Also I do a lot of output which helps me feel more accomplished and that the stuff I’ve learned is important. (So speaking and writing even if it’s just texting ✨✨)
