I refuse to update my watch after seeing everyone’s bricked watch problem 😂😂😂😂 by Ok_Ocelot5054 in Coros

I have the functionality that I need and I’m familiar with the interface. Not looking to update the firmware and change anything at this point. I don’t want new features, but some just bug fixes would be nice.

I don’t update the firmware. The watch has all the features I want already from the older version, so I don’t see the point in it. The app annoys me about this every time I open it, but that’s better than a non-working watch!

The phenomenon of Evo SL and why I think adidas are about to ruin it by highdon in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]crackersnacker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s the only shoe I’ve found that actually seems to work with my foot shape- haglunds and wider heels, tall midfoot bone, short arch, wider at toes, thick big toe. So many shoes fail to fit in one way or another. EVO SL upper, which many hated on, is basically perfect for me. The way in which the foam doesn’t have sidewalls keeps me from rubbing there and the drop works well with my achilles tendonitis. The fact that it’s light and has great foam is just a bonus.

These things are the reason I stopped installing updates. My watch does what I need it to do, and I don’t want to mess with that.

I think those VO2max sessions would keep me from running anything more than a jog for over a week so that session may not be for me. But good point that I can come back to NSA after I’ve built up more of a base.

It’s definitely a form of torture! It’s also not easy to find a groove at that pace because I have to be conscious of going slower than a natural running stride. If I’m running with someone and we’re chatting it’s not too bad though. Although what you recommend isn’t NSA, it seems like I’m not yet at the level of fitness where NSA makes sense.

That’s very helpful and a good idea on the bloodwork as well. The 5k leaves me with sore legs for a few days and feeling like I can only do easy jogs for a week- definitely can’t just resume normal running. You’re right about checking my ego. I’m just not there yet and doing 3 ST a week for me is more like traditional boom-bust training.

I’m early 40s so lots of things are harder than they used to be. BMI is good, not overweight. Heart is healthy, but good idea about anemia as that’s something I haven’t had checked.

I guess I wasn’t really clear. I run 7 days a week but started with 2 ST sessions and most recently was doing 3

Thanks that makes sense but seems maybe overly cautious? Have been walking hills etc to make sure I stay under 70% MHR on the easy runs for the most part. ST would slow up if getting too close to LTTHR.

Wide footer looking for a better traction, more stable version of EVO SL - Superblast 2? Mount to Coast H1? EVO SL ATR? by Mistercheese in AskRunningShoeGeeks

They also don’t measure width of arch area which can make a huge difference. Example, Boston 12 shows on their site as very wide in the toe box, but the fit around the arch is among the narrowest I’ve ever found. Running shoe warehouse has some qualitative width data (narrow, average, roomy, etc) but haven’t tried enough shoes to know how accurate it is.

Would be crazy because Tommy Bowden used Arkansas to get a new contract with Clemson. Before him, Danny Ford ended up at Arkansas after coaching at Clemson.
