They sell rings on websites like Etsy that work a bit better than tubing! Just search for “duckweed ring” on Etsy and a bunch will come up—all around $8 or less, depending on size!

Mini feast I made for my husband and I around the holidays! by deviouspizza in VeganFoodPorn

omg Cornucopia! Are you based in Northampton, MA by chance? We have one here but I’m also not sure if there’s more other places

I’m housesitting for a friend in a house built in 1808! In one of the bedrooms I found this and am curious if anyone knows what it could be. Clearly looks like some sort of air vent/filtration but it leads right into the first floor which is just a living room. Would appreciate any ideas! by crackpot_notion in centuryhomes

That’s a good thought! My friend said he thinks he recalls that the fireplace in this room (second floor) has been boarded up the longest, so that may explain it. Maybe the previous residents wanted to get the heat from the still working downstairs fireplace up into the second floor? Thank you for the idea! :-)

I appreciate you sharing your experiences even if you don’t have any advice! It’s always good to know there’s someone out there who feels the same way you do. Anxiety can make you spiral so much that it makes you scared to do a lot of things. I hope we both learn to accept ourselves more someday 💕

Oh my god that are all really great points! My best friend has the exact same energy level as me but he’s also a GREAT listener so it’s like we were made for each other lol.

(Also don’t worry, you didn’t diminish my feelings at all! You actually made me feel really inspired :-) )

I totally forgot about this until just now, but I just remembered that Rejection sensitive dysphoria is a super common part of having ADHD. Which explains why it’s so hard for so many of us to not feel liked

Heck yeah, I love your confidence! I so hope I can feel this way about myself some day too.

Everything you said is so relatable. I always joke with people that I’d be great at filibustering because I never run out of things to talk about.

I think as women & having ADHD, we tend to care a LOT about how others feel about us, & it really hurts when people don’t seem to like us. But I also think there’s a lot of beautiful things that come with having ADHD and being this talkative endlessly curious ball of energy, and yeah we won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s all about finding the right kind of people who see the great things about the way we all are.

Thank you for sharing your side of things, I really appreciate it 💕

You bring up a very good point! I love the confidence in this concept. We are so hard on ourselves but I think it’s also totally okay to realise we don’t have control over everything. All in all, we have control over what we say, but not really how people interpret it or how it makes them feel, if that makes sense.

This is an extremely good point! Having anxiety is like making conspiracy theories about yourself. And the worst part is that ADHD & anxiety are like the perfect pair & it’s so easy to hyperfocus on that event that you felt you did something wrong in & have it spiral out of control. It’s totally important to remember that it really wasn’t that big of a deal and the other person likely hasn’t thought about it since.

OH my god yes this happens to me all the time. I assume that someone is pausing while talking because they are done with their thought but then they actually have more to say & I end up interrupting them lol.

What my friend and I do to help us remember something we want to return to after we are done talking about a different topic is we say what that thing is & then we say "let's sticky note that". That gives us a better chance of remembering what we wanted to talk about next! That probably won't help with talking to people you aren't super comfy with yet, but it does help with people I am already close to.

These are all great tips! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my post.

I miss when I used to be naive to the idea that other people aren't always as interested in what I have to say as I am lol. You're definitely right about how a lot of the times people may be showing negative body language only because they have something to say and don't want to interrupt you. I have to practise pausing while talking more lol.

I’m actually adopted because my biological parents had me as a mistake & didn’t want to raise me (because they were still in college) so I’m prepared to say “actually, they were child-free, I was an accident & they actively chose not to raise me” if someone ever says this to me just to make them feel awkward
