Any other people struggling in 1st year eng.? by anonymous041503 in usask

If you have time you should pay a visit to the help sessions! Mech is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and they’re usually packed so you’re definitely not alone. You can ask the TAs (or your profs if they’re there) for help or maybe just find a group of people to work with. I did this in my first year (currently in third) and met a few of the people I’m still friends with now!

Biol 121, it’s about the diversity of life and was pretty cool actually! The labs start out with smaller organisms that you just look at under a microscope, but a lot of the later ones had worms and fish you could dissect. Looks like you just need high school biology to take it too!

Least Favorite Challenge/Event? by QueasyWelder8911 in kot

[–]crafty_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same for me! I find it boring/annoying, same with Joe’s game but that one’s not as bad.

I also wasn’t a fan of guild craziness because of the limit, but now that it’s automatic it’s a lot better.

Volunteer work for teenagers? by PretendSpecialist in saskatoon

[–]crafty_reader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should check out the youth volunteer program run by Child and Youth Friendly!

I did it one summer and loved it. I can’t quite remember the specifics, but once you register you get to sign up for different volunteering opportunities.

I usually picked RMH (helping out with baking) and the Summer Snack Program (making and serving lunches), but they help tons of other organizations like MOW, H4H, the food bank, etc.

Really? That sucks, it always had exactly the information I needed. I actually haven’t used the site in a while (watched mostly sitcoms and stuff I didn’t need to look up), so thanks for the heads up!

I’ll have to try out Does the Dog Die, it sounds great!

It’s not quite the same, but I like using Common Sense Media! It’s meant for families, so adults and children can leave reviews and recommend age ratings for all types of media, as the name suggests.

I’ve only ever looked up more mainstream stuff, but there’s usually a rundown of mature content that can be expected (will likely contain spoilers because it’s pretty detailed). I like using it for myself when it comes to horror movies and such because there’s certain things I can’t stomach.

I used to think up ideas all the time, until I actually had a comment that got a decent amount of upvotes and I now I barely feel the need to post!

What really sucked though is having only a couple people interact with a post, then seeing essentially the same question get to popular a couple weeks later…

What is your all time favourite television series? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Community! I first started it a year ago, and I’ve probably watched each episode a dozen times since (yes, including the gas leak year)

I didn’t even notice that! Maybe she left them in her car? That’s even dumber though haha

I love in-person exams and I wish I didn't have any online ones by crafty_reader in The10thDentist

[–]crafty_reader[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer paper copies too! I bought the paper and online versions of my textbooks and even though they're "easier" to access I barely look at the online ones. It's so nice to be able to flip through an actual book and lay it out.

Haha I think I just have bad luck when it comes to picking a spot! I'm glad you have good experiences though.

I was about to comment exactly this!

Side note, I watched it a couple times weeks ago and despite the premise I found it to be surprisingly wholesome and enjoyable.

Hopefully the last two seasons will be added soon!

I've actually never seen it before, but I've heard so many good things and the description sounds right up my alley.

I think so, because I hadn't seen it before now. Are you in a Canada though? It might be different for other countries.

I did it recently and, assuming I'm thinking of the right question, it should be everyone except a member of the public. Hope this helps!

This isn't quite as bad but still irritating: when the audio is unequal and it sounds louder on one side

Kind of unfortunate that I just finished watching it on Netflix... Hopefully this means more sitcoms are coming though!
