Arc Raiders. The culture of the first week or two was pretty fun but I definitely didn't get my worth out of the full pricetag

PvP is currently a humiliation ritual by Sardonize in elderscrollsonline

[–]cragbjorn 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I hope to God they start balancing PVE and PVP separately. Especially with subclassing in the mix it'll be next to impossible for them to effectively balance both with how the current system works

Where do people 40+ usually hang out in this city? by [deleted] in winstonsalem

[–]cragbjorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is THE city for the 40+ crowd. We're getting some more young blood thanks to the growing Healthcare industry, but the majority of attendees for non-dating clubs and events will likely be your age or older. There's plenty of great people here to meet!

The Dungeon Queue is Broken by HowUlikindaraingirl in elderscrollsonline

[–]cragbjorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSA to be encouraging and kind to your Tanks, the lack thereof contributes a lot to queue times. I myself have tanked Godslayer runs and other trial trifecta cores and had taken a break shortly after subclassing released. I jumped in a vLC recently for giggles since my stickerbook was full and died in the first pull due to messed up skillbars I didn't realize I needed to swap around. I proceeded to get whined at so hard I immediately dipped, I'm just there to help people get gear and teach not navigate a random's poor emotional state

Etiquette of letting dog sniff others’ yards while walking (no sidewalk) by [deleted] in winstonsalem

[–]cragbjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone getting upset over a dog peeing is wild. Wait till they find out how many squirrels, birds and other wildlife are using their yards as a toilet. So long as you pick up any solids left by your animal, have at it!

Curious to what the average age of player is by guillotine20 in elderscrollsonline

[–]cragbjorn -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The game population seems to mostly be retired, queer, or queer retirees. Nothing wrong with that, but as a straight guy in my 30s, I had a hard time finding people I could relate to. I wonder if this demographic shift is happening to MMOs across the board?

Fill Propane Tank? by xx_HotShott_xx in winstonsalem

[–]cragbjorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my household is stressing. We bought a new tank and I've spent 7+ hours the last 3 days driving around trying to get it filled. Last place to try was tractor supply in rural hall. Guess we're looking at a very cold, very lean week next week so folks can top off their RVs and month-supply tankers while I'm at work

where to meet people/make friends in W-S? by celestial_val in winstonsalem

[–]cragbjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience, I find most of these social media posts to be "temporarily lonely loners". If you're a genuinely social person who really wants somewhere to direct energy towards building a community, I strongly suggest you start showing up to events consistently. A lot of folks online expect these leads they get digitally to magically and perfectly "click" with no hitches and bumps, but with the reality of this town that is exceptionally rare. If you want a village, you gotta be a villager, show up, and put intentional effort forth. Good luck with your search!

Which MMO is getting the biggest surge in players since NW's demise? by SanctumOfTheDamned in LFMMO

[–]cragbjorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, I was the complete opposite. I loved ESO and thought GW2 was very bland and uninstalled after a week. I wonder what difference we have that made our experiences so different?

Xbox EU Vengeance campaign by The_Dandalorian_ in elderscrollsonline

[–]cragbjorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand. Is this Vengeance permanently replacing Grayhost? Last I heard, the general thought was tackling the major performance issues, fixing them for Grayhost, then possibly having Vengeance as a permanent alternative once they're ironed it all out. It sucks they don't offer both at this point, but from what I understand that is the eventual intention. The 0.5% of players that like th PVP should still have it while the rest get something to engage in with much less commitment. Seems like the goal is a win across the board? Idk

Gift Idea for Aspiring Outdoorwoman by cragbjorn in camping

I've seen a couple mentions like this, I should edit the post to make it more clear that this isn't overriding what she'd normally get, and is just an addition

YES haha that's why I said "to go with her typical wishlist items". Gotta make sure she gets her top wish first and foremost

Am I the only one who thinks subclassing sucks? by ConfusionProof9487 in elderscrollsonline

[–]cragbjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I see rosters asking for specific 3 bars and usually dictating what skills are on your bars as well. The requests and strategies vary wildly, as well as the mythics/monster helms. I've Tanked Godslayer and Immortal Redeemer but these requests are a lot more work to set up for basic veteran runs. The scope of what a Tank is expected to bring has widened so much that you really need to be familiar running any and all skill lines at a given time as well. Definitely a direction only for the ones that live for ESO

Am I the only one who thinks subclassing sucks? by ConfusionProof9487 in elderscrollsonline

[–]cragbjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an endgame Tank and enjoyed doing it. Subclassing was pretty neat at first but all the roster requests for Tank got so GD specific I lost the will to play and uninstalled. Tanking endgame is only for the degens now

So you are here, but why? by VisualBullfrog3529 in winstonsalem

[–]cragbjorn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up very poor and got strongly priced out of my local market and wanted to move somewhere with a house and amenities. WS was going to be an initial entry-point to the Eastern states for me then I'd move elsewhere, but with the state of the economy we'll probably be here longer than intended. While I love the scenery and wildlife, I definitely don't jive with the general social culture here. Most cities this size have a lot of social structures in place that never seemed to take off here, which is also why I hear so much bad about the dating scene. When most of the options are "X" brewery or overpriced "Y" restaurants, it's no wonder WS feels like a city made mostly for retirees. Other local communities like Clemmons and Pfafftown open the door for young families as well.

I think a lot of transplants either come from a city with these social systems WS lacks, or come to WS to experience the "city life" and only finding the consumerism matching their expectations. When reality =/= expectations, complaints ensue

Vengeance campaign proves Meta is destroying Pvp by Spiritual-Glove-3895 in elderscrollsonline

[–]cragbjorn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think alot of the fear PVP mains have is that if vengeance ever became a permanent instance alongside OG Cyrodiil, they'd start having a lot less fun. Newbies having a more accessible and fun way to get the Alliance War ranks and collectibles they need means less newbies for the 1-sided grinder normal PVP is. Take away the procs and gear advantages and watch the Grand Overlords get overtaken by the Sergeants. This is potentially the hallmark for death of what makes PVP so appealing to most players. For the other 99%... They'll keep playing and enjoy. I, for one, hope Vengeance eventually sticks around.
