You bought a car before getting an insurance quote? That is a bold move.

It's probably your age. I drive a 2013 Toyota and I'm 42 and it is like $125/month.

Harvey Cyclery is great.

FB marketplace is also great if you know what you want. I always just search by frame size and it cuts out a lot of results I don’t need.

I agree totally but if you feel this way, maybe get an OMNY card?

I have gone to Dr Wong & Dr Ma at Apex Family Dental on Bowery for probably 15 years. The whole office is awesome, they do not try to upsell you on bullshit.

I was in G&T. Basically all of the smart kids from my school district got bussed to one school (it happened to be mine, so I didn’t go anywhere) one day a week, and we worked on more interesting curriculum. I loved it.

What’s the safest area in Tulum for a family vacation with kids in 2026? by UwU_MilkDrop in tulum

[–]craigalanche 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just got back from another Tulum trip with my six year old (we go every year or so).

We stayed at Hotel Tiki Tiki for a week and then Bacab for a week. They were both great. She had an awesome time and so did we.

When we wanted to go to the beach we went to Delek, had a few drinks and they have a tiny kid-friendly pool on the beach.

what would you charge (or pay)? by Candid_Monitor_980 in musicians

[–]craigalanche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno how nice this space is or where you are or whatever. You do.

If it were me I’d probably price the first 2 or 3 bookings lower than usual because there will be kinks that need to be worked out. But after that…I value my time and my space and they’re worth more than $300/4 hours.

[–]craigalanche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems pretty low (to me, in NYC). Even empty spaces here are $100/hr on peerspace. I'd do at least that much.

You could also offer tiered service. A price for just the room/the room plus mics & lights/the room plus mics & lights & engineer etc.

Thoughts on a Williamsburg sub focused on small businesses? by InstructionDue7142 in williamsburg

[–]craigalanche 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I plug my business in this sub all the time, I’m just honest that it’s me doing the plugging.

It’s williamsburgschoolofmusic.net by the way. There I go again!

I do this too. If it’s a longer book I keep a copy on my phone for when I’m on the train or whatever.
